Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread

I just got the game recently, so this has probably been mentioned. But when you hit a home run, the replay will show your up to date stats and the crowd does't react to the ball.

Example: Chipper Jones had 2 HR for me going into my game against the Cubs. He comes up and nails a big shot. The instant replay comes on and on the scoreboard he has 3 HRs and 3RBIs. It should have only been 2 HRs and 2 RNIs, but the stats were updated in the replay. And another little thing was in the replay the crowd did not react to the ball like they did in live action. They just sat there while it landed beside them. Looked very awkward.

Again, very small details, but those are what are most important.

I haven't found this bug in the thread. When I save in the middle of the game as "My Player" with a starting pitcher, I can't resume the game when coming back. Everything starts up fine and it comes up with the pitching instruction and it says hit A to continue but it won't continue. All of the buttons work fine for everything else though. Maybe there is a way to turn off that instruction everytime I load. Does anyone know of a way to do that? So now I know not to save in the middle of a game with a pitcher.

Last night I was playing my cubs franchise and I was at Arizona on defense.

I went to field a line drive in right field, my only chance was to dive for it, so I did. David DeJesus came up empty. I thought something looked weird about it so I took a look at the replay and sure enough the ball went straight through his glove. I'll try and get the replay up soon.

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread

Two middle infield bugs that have been occuring regularly to me:

          1) On a standard 6-4-3 double play, when I make the initial throw to second the turn is made correctly but the runner is being called safe at second. When I check the replay, the fielder is clearly touching the bag with his foot and is turning the play correctly. I should note this only seems to happen when the runner at first is safe.

          2) On plays in the hole with my SS and a runner on first, I will preload my throw to attempt a quick out at 2nd to get the lead runner. Unfortunately, the fielder takes the LONG animation to gather himself, double pump, and finally throw to second--about 3 seconds after the runner as arrived easily. It would be a difficult play to begin with, but the contextual inaccuracy is what bothers me and prevents you from getting the lead runner every time. The SS seems to have no problem making the rediculously quick jumping throw to first on a normal grounder to get the runner by 15 feet, but when it's actually needed, he takes his time. Brilliant.

The diving plays in this game are very sketchy. The first time I attempted one it was one of those "Andruw Jones" diving in on a low liner to center. An inside the park HR later, I was a bit gun-shy about trying it again. The problem I've been having is the timing. It seems like you're supposed to attempt it early, almost before you know you can get to it, so it has time to load the animation in relation to the ball flight. If you time it correctly, it seems like the CPU will compensate for you allow to catch the ball on the run or dive correctly. If you don't...well...see above.

Even more irritating are the line drives in MP. I've attempted diving close to 30 times on a line drive through the hole. Despite excellent timing, my SS will jump over or under the flight of the ball even though it seemed like he could have gotten it easily.

Oh yeah, also had an interesting one about a week ago. A ball went through my bat. Now this is only the first time it's happened in over 100 games(I usually quickly check the replay when I swing and miss), so it's really nothing to be worried about IMO and it's been fixed 99.999999% from what I've seen.

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread

                More fielding issues:

                1) Runners on 1st and 2nd with one out. Ground ball to my third baseman and I'm thinking it's going to be an easy 5-3 double play. Well he starts his way towards 3rd, and even though I'm still pushing in that direction, he slows up and stops just short of the bag while the runner slides in underneath him. To make matters worse, during this I'm preloading my throw to first and he doesn't even attempt the throw. So what should have been an easy double play is now an infield single because the controls suck ****.

                2) Play at the plate. I know these have been problems, but I thought it was remedied by hitting RB when I received the throw so my catcher would apoply the tag instead of just standing there. Well, he did attempt to apply the tag, but rather than hold the glove in front of the plate, he makes a swiping tag motion like a first baseman on a pick-off. Meanwhile, the runner slides to the outside past home and reaches back with his hand to touch the plate. I had the runner dead to rights, and because of the s***y animations this game employs it costs me a run.

                Hitting:

Not really a bug I guess, but more of a gripe. I've been knocking the cover off the ball on Pro, so I turned up the difficulty to All-Star. The problem is my batters seem to miss the pitch even when my timing is perfect. It's understandable to swing and miss and see "very early, early, late, very late" pop up, but when nothing pops up and I am perfectly timed to the pitch (confirmed in replays) my guy shouldn't just swing over top of the pitch.

On a timing based hitting system I don't think it's fair the CPU decides when you just can't hit the ball even when it's in the K zone. Five times last night I swung at a 2 strike pitch that was over the plate with perfect timing and still struck out. It's not good when you keeping missing and you have to ask "what am I doing wrong" and the answer is NOTHING. It takes away from the enjoyment of the game.

I found a glitch with SuperSim.

My friend and I only want to bat with our players, however after I go into SuperSim for the 2nd time after his at-bat the game freezes every single time.

                  Very annoying.

Re: Official MLB 2K10 Glitches/Bugs Thread

I don't know if this has been mentioned (and it probably has, but I didn't see it after a quick search), but pitch counts for opposing pitchers are often screwy in the first inning in My Player mode. For example, my player is usually 3rd in the batting order but I often see odd pitch counts like 9 balls, 0 strikes, 2 outs, and no one on base (and no one CS, either). How exactly does a pitcher throw 9 balls and no strikes to 2 players and record 2 outs?

Just last night I went up in the first inning and saw a pitch count of 8 balls, 2 strikes with 2 outs. Again, how is that possible? Or are pitch counts just randomized and not actually simmed?
"I was telling George Kottaras behind the plate, 'How do you even catch Wakefield's knuckle?'" Oakland shortstop Orlando Cabrera said. "He was like, 'I just close my eyes.' And I said, 'OK, I'm going to try that one, I'm going to close my eyes and swing.' And nothing."

Maybe picked off? This game likes to pick off runners left and right, too bad they don't track that stat, I'd like to see how often it happens. You can check the Game Track to see how they got out.

Interesting... hadn't thought of that one. It might explain the 8 balls 2 strikes situation, but nothing can explain the 9 balls (which I have seen five or so times). You literally cannot throw 9 balls to only 2 players. Or, at least, in no way that I can think of.

Matt Cain's deliveries are flip-flopped. He pitches slower when guys are on, than when the bases are empty.

                            Bases loaded 1 out.
What turns into a sac fly.
                            Runner from 3rd scores.

They throw to 3rd from the outfield.
It bounces between 2nd and 3rd and goes by the 3rd baseman.
No effort to pick it up was made so I sent the runner from 2nd home and he counts and I tried to send the runner from 1st home. While he's between 3rd and home the game cuts to the next batter and the runner just vanishes. Not out, didn't score, not on 3rd. Just gone.

there are players missing from the free agents list, only way you notice is if you use player finder in your franchise
why is player finder only in franchise anyway???

Teams don't trade in franchise mode unless you simulate. If you sit there and play every game, and do not simulate multiple days no trades will be made by the cpu.
