    Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist

I just want them to explain me why the hell...... they took out the textures from mlb 2k7? can someone explain me, can they do a game with that framerate (mlb 2k10) but with mlb 2k7 textures? is it so dificult?

THEN WHY YOU 2K DON'T DO THAT?

If someone knows the exact reasons (technically) please let me know.

      Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist

My 2K11 (really, my post-patch wishlist):

      1) Fix the simulated stat engine. Why even have a mode like Franchise when the stat engine is so unbelievably broken? Elite starting pitchers with ERA's in the 6's and 7's should not happen. Slap hitters with speed should not be hitting 25+ HR. I've seen Luis Castillo and Juan Pierre hit a combined 51 HR in one simmed season. This should be really embarrassing to 2K.

      2) Errors and injuries are an important part of baseball. Yeah, really, they are... Let's try and get these in the game.

      3) Fix free agency because it's pretty messed up.

      4) Get rid of the editting cap! Especially when we were flat out told that there was no cap this year. I understand that you don't want player likeness in the minor leagues. That's understandable, but that's why you have to get rid of the cap. Hardcore, realistic franchise gamers still exist! If there is a cap, don't lie about it, and then be quiet about it when asked why you basically lied. Seriously, this is just bad business.

      5) Update the player portraits or just scratch them altogether. Edinson Volquez is still in a Rangers hat even though he hasn't been a part of their organization for three years. Griffey is still in a Reds hat. ESPN and other online sites can get player portraits updated immediately after a transaction, yet 2K chooses to ignore player portraits for years at a time. For a game with great presentation and commentary, this really cheapens all of it. The Mariners look like a team that was put together in a fantasy draft. I'd rather have no player portraits at all if this is what I have to deal with.

      6) Fix the game speed and the outfielder's arms.

        Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist

I feel sorry for you 2k, you got a couple of featurings in your games - awesome features - but you just don't know how to handle it 'cause you rally need to fix your older bugs before making a new game. It's a shame! what would be thinking EA of this thing? well.... it's not aceptable!! you already have 10 years in the baseball videogame market and there still:

        Rocket arms
        Bugs everywhere
        wierd animations
Bad handle of the franchise mode
        Bad handle of free agency
Bad fielding system (gotta try MVP fielding system for you to konw)
And too much things more away.........

Sorry but someone needed to tell you the truth 'cause as a costumer you stole my money

You may think that im a fanboy but it's not like that - Im doing this cause a feel courage about you 2k - 5 dam years (five) after MVP 2005 and you just can't make something like this.

I feel like there won't be another mlb 2k- I'd like to be wrong on that but this is what it looks like.

FLUID ANIMATIONS NEEDS TO BE 2K BASEBALL'S GOAL NEXT YEAR

It is time for 2K to smooth out the animations.
          * Eliminate the stop and start running animations.
          * Slow down pickoff attempts to a more natural speed.
          * Get rid of the hitching in some of the baserunning animations. Baserunners should also round the bases and maintain that arc angle, never always running right on top of the chalk from base to base.
          * Slow down that rocket throw from the outfield or from deep in the hole from a shortstop position.
          * Enough with the user-controlled rushed throws that look so unnatural, it's virtually impossible for a shortstop to throw to first while facing centerfield.
          * Slow down the bat speed going through the zone on a power swing
          * Improve the batter's swing animation so that there is no delay between his stride and the movement of his hips while bringing the bat through the zone. And make sure his eyes are on the ball all the way through contact (NEVER LOOKING AWAY)
          * It's time for 2K to be the first of the baseball titles that includes a catcher removing and tossing his mask while blocking the plate, or to field a bunt or a popup behind the plate. That would be innovative.
          * The players in the dugout clapping their hands should be looking towards the field and not to the heavens. Players in the dugout dont always stare at the jumbotron either.
          * If my player hits a homerun, let him shake hands with the coaches in the coaching boxes.

I'm sure there are many other animations that need to be ironed out a bit. In my opinion, 2K Baseball right now is where THE SHOW was a few years ago. Tighten up some of the AI logic, but really GET TO WORK ON ANIMATION FLUIDITY and this game will hit a home run next year. I guarantee it.

            UPDATE:

I had a gripe about scoring the winning run animation. I just scored in My Player as the winning run and did get a celebratory scene, but just for him. No players hopping the railing or anything else. Still not great, but better than nothing. Not sure why it didn't show up the first time it happened.

              Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist

My Player baserunning would be really fun if a couple things were fixed/added:

stealing (obviously) - give us full control of sliding every time, add sliders for basestealing speed, catcher arm and catcher accuracy. let us balance the game with custom sliders. no catcher has the crazy accuracy that 2k gives them all.

the 2nd base pickoff attempts - 2k has always overdone this. teams do not attempt this as often as the AI does in this game - as it has dangerous repercussions. you should also add animations where the pitcher steps off and fakes a throw to second. also add animations where the pitcher lobs it over to first or second - so when they really whip it over they try to catch you off guard. also, pickoff attempts to second must result in some errors...you cannot keep doing this and not have balls leaking into the outfield, bouncing off the runner diving back, etc etc. this game REALLY needs these little details for realism.

add button to stop running a ANY point. if I want to stop running 2/3 of the way to 3rd to make sure a wall ball is not caught, let me do this. maybe a shoulder button would be good. then another tap on the trigger gets you running in either direction again.

please add the options to play defense in My Player:

              1. only when ball is hit to your area (as it currently is)
              2. only when ball is hit (anywhere on the field)
              3. full - all inning, every pitch

It would also be cool to add presentation options for My Player:

on/off - pregame setup, cutscenes, pitcher introductions etc.
on/off - camera shots of the park etc

this might not work for head to head, so i am going to request this for co-op -- a team-up mode where me and some buddies can play on the same team in a player lock situation, just like my player except no simming. how ever many humans can be allowed, with the rest of both teams controlled by the AI. I would actually have fun playing the field, watching my friends at bat, combining on double plays, or just trying to hit a relay to home correctly, etc.

and I agree on smoothing out the animations. one pet peeve that really detracts for the game: line shots in the air that the IF'ers run to catch. In real basesball, infielders do not have time to run 4 or 5 steps to catch a screaming liner, the worst being when 2k infielders run backwards toward the outfield to catch them (that should only happen on soft flares higher up). Infeilders should only have time for three options on line drive hits: dive left, dive right, jump up to try and make a play on the ball. There should be a lot of work to add tons of different diving/jumping animations (the majority of them NOT making the catch). having a lot of variety in them makes sure they do not get redundant and look and seem natural. this would really add to the baseball realism, as the infield has never played or looked correctly in 2k..

                Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist

Fix the tags at home plate, they are terrible. My catcher will recieve the ball in time and then when the baserunner slides in the catcher will take a step in a random direction to apply the tag and he'll be nowhere close to the plate. Pretty frustrating to give up runs that way.

                  Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist

First i'd like to say this year was better and enjoyable than the past 2 years. But the game still isn't perfect and it would be cool to see some improvements.

                  My player mode:

                  -Getting to the majors-
The my player mode in mlb 2k10 is OK but i think the whole idea of being a baseball prodigy and being called up to the majors only after 15 games is stupid. A lot of baseball is battling it out in the minors and experiencing the struggle to get to the majors. When i played mlb the show:09, i think it took to long. the only way it would be fun in The Show would to be a closing or staring pitcher. when i was a fielder i played maybe 3 months and i stopped and went back to my pitcher. I hope in mlb 2k11 they find a way to move it along faster but still have the experience of the minors.

                  -trades-
In real baseball most players don't stay on their clubs for their whole career they are traded to other teams and put on the free agent list. What i'm trying to say is have the your team can trade you without doing it yourself. It's just more realistic.

                  -Character customization-
This isn't a huge problem but it would be nice to have a little more customizable features in the game. more sliders for the face and beard and so on.

MY PLAYER IN GAME GAME PLAY

                  -Game play sliders-
I find myself bored on the base paths when i'm watching a 7 pitch at bat then he walks. It would be nice to see an option to make it half an at bat or the pitch he hits.

                  -Other additions-
Walk up music or bullpen music would be great. i also wouldn't mind custom chants or jeers to your player(not so important). Cut scenes of maybe your player walking off the field or highfiving someone(not only after the game) would be cool.

                  -Pitcher-
I had some MAJOR PROBLEMS with the my player pitcher in this game. one of them was that you never got pulled from the game. i player over 15 games and i got pulled from one. in some games i let up 5 runs and in the 9th i was still pitching. Most pitchers in baseball only have 4 to 5 complete games in a year. It is a MUST to change this, if you are doing great, keep the pitcher in. If you are doing bad or mediocre take him out and replace him. It would be cool to see more cut scenes like the pitcher tossing and using the rosin bag. If you are called in as a closer there should be a cut scene of you coming to the meeting on the mound and talking to the coach and catcher.

                  -Catcher-
The catcher in this game is just boring. the things that would make it better is if you could call the pitches.you can call the pitches and where the location would be. also when there is a pop up around the plate and the catcher tries to catch it he should take off his mask. also you should be able to visit the mound.

                  -1st Base/ All other positions-
All other positions and other stuff is good besides 1B. Bottom line 1B is boring but i really don't know how to fix it but from other comments people thought maybe a button to press to catch it.

                  -My player overall improvements -
. Longer time toiling away in the minors.
                  . Team can trade you.
                  . Better character customization.
. Being able to shorten OTHER peoples at bats while on the bases.
                  . Customizable walk up music.
                  . Realistic cut scenes.
. Not keeping the pitcher in the whole game, take out the pitcher if he is doing bad.
                  . Mound visits.
. Catcher/ able to call pitches and location.

                  Franchise Mode:

                  -Overall improvements-
There isn't much to improve on in franchise besides being able to buy stuff for your stadium like new grass or concession stands.

                  Graphics:

                  -Overall improvements-
The graphics in the game are pretty good but not good enough. I liked the shadows on the field and everything. the only problem is all the player look the same, and the stadiums don't look good at day and night, but afternoon looks great. the graphics look more clumpy than detailed but if they are the same in 2k11 but the game play is better i won't be upset. One person you have to improve on is Dustin Pedroia he looks totally different.

                  Game play/ Sounds,Small improvements,Atmosphere:

                  -Game play-
Game play in this game is pretty solid overall. I like the improvements on hitting and fielding. the problem is there needs to be more fluent animations and more animations. P.S. i have yet to see a bug, Great job!

                  -Sounds-
The sounds in mlb 2k10 is good but when i comes down to the clutch moments it stays the same. For example at Fenway Park with 2 down playing the Yankees in the 9th the crowd was making the same noise as in the 1st, thats a little lame. One thing i would like is to be able to create your own chants and jeers. so bottom line is fix the crowd sound.

                  -Small improvements-
I really want to see people walking up and down the aisles like in 2k7. More cut scenes would be nice. Better celebrations.

                  -Atmosphere-
The atmosphere in the game could be better. like i said earlier there should be more sound and excitement.

                  Final Improvement:
Lastly i really think there should be a create a stadium option. 2k needs to do it before the show does it. Make it a lot like MVP Baseballs, just more in depth. also a create a team option to put in your park would be great for the game.

Thats all and i really like this years but i really need these improvements for next year.

P.S. don't change anything that doesn't need to be fixed.

                    Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist

More customizable options would go a long way in improving the game.

First, off, obviously remove editting restrictions. Not just the number of names that can be changed, but why can we not edit the appearance of fake minor leaguers? I can understand not being able to change Derek Jeter's height and give him a beard, but for fake players, there is no reason to not let us have full editting capabilities.

I was happy to see create-a-team added this year, but if you can't use it in a season or franchise mode, what is the point? Also, the logos available are terrible. I would love to be able to upload our own logos, similar to NCAA Football's team builder, but at the very least, open up the MLB and minor league logos that are already in the game. Then give us a few uniform options, like pinstripes, piping, vests, instead of having the logo you choose determine the uniform style. A full uniform editor would also allow unlimited throwback and alternate styles, not just for created teams, but real teams as well.

Allow more freedom in rosters and lineups. I should be allowed to start a pitcher in the outfield if I want, as there actually are examples of Rick Ankiel, Brooks Kieschnick, and others. No reason to leave this option out.

Fix the franchise roster management AI. I'm not sure how it was before the draft, but after it every team but the dodgers(who have 14 and 11) has 15 hitters and 10 pitchers on their team. That means teams have 5 relief pitchers.

                        Re: MLB 2K11 Wishlist

One incredibly easy fix is the inability to sub in relief pitchers in between innings. Having to wait until your other pitcher is on the mound and the inning has started to be able to sub is just silly and annoying.

As many have said the fielding still needs a lot of work, infielders/pitchers are super fielders, gobble up anything relatively close, and never make an error. The outfielders take predetermined angles to balls, you can feel them fall into a path when you run to a fly ball. Also, what's with the catcher being stuck in the linebacker position on plays at the plate. Every time I throw home and the throw is WELL ahead of the runner the catcher just stays in, with no way to move him out of it, that position waiting for impact.

We need real practical variation of check swings. This is huge, I don't know how many times I held back the right stick yet it still did the full complete swing.

Celebrations, when someone hits a home run they just walk back to the dugout, past teammates and no high-fives or anything.

Improve the animations, the transitions are still way to clunky and feel unnatural.

Player models are better but are too plump and they all have the same builds. Please make these realistic to their real life counterparts.

Give us the option to play hurry up baseball, don't make it mandatory. It ruins the immersion. Even if you turn off the option it still skips half the scene in between pitches.

What's the point of spring training? The cpu never subs in the other players and its basically a regular season before the regular season.

                        Injuries? Errors?

Plus many of the others things the other gentlemen mentioned. Some of these things SHOULD be fixed in patches with some still to be worked on for next year. 2k seems to be taking steps in the right direction but they need to continue if they hope to keep a stake in the MLB gaming community.

Maybe this is too complex, but we should be able to customize signature styles, at least to this extent:

                          1. change the swing type (two-handed, one handed)
                          2. Change the leg kick (high, low, medium)

Matt Holliday's stance has him swing with two hands. In reality, he swings mainly with one.

3b. It's hard to get a good jump cause if u try to go just before the pitch kicks his leg up, he picks and ur ****ed, but if u do it too late, ur gonna get thrown out.
                            4. Baserunning is kinda weird this year, still havent gotten used to it.
                            5. Franchises, ive got a list for this one...
5a. After about a year, the players' power and speed stats get totally rediculous (ryan howard 35 SB's, catchers going 40-40, etc.)
5b. Spring Training? Useless. I use it sometimes to see who does well/crap in rotation battles or position battles. If they use ST, at least have a "Position Battles" screen to showcase the top 3 position battles in the spring.
5b-a. Have cpu put in some AAA guys to make the club in the regular season.
5c. It seems sometimes when I get to the amateur draft that my xbox freezes...may not be the game though...
5d. More big name free agents. Whenever I go to the FA's, there's always like nobody there except old people. Get more big name FA's.
5e. Amateur draft players go right onto the MLB roster after the draft, I think that in real life they have to wait til the regular season ends, but i dunno.

PERSONAL - Gary Thorne needs to pronounce some names right such as Ian KinSler (putting lots of emphasis on the S), Andre Ethie (Gary, he has an R at the end), and possibly the worst, Roy Holliday (combo of roy halladay and matt holliday?)

That's all for now...probably will find some more as I play on...

add a walks and defensive swing slider to the CPU controlled teams.

fine tune, sequence the pitcher body gesture/movement with the pitch meter graphics. and add the 2k8 element to it also.

Not sure how I missed it before, but Trevytrev's ideas on scouting and coaches is absolutely, 100% right on.

Might I add that in order to hire those better scouts and coaches, you have to spend more money, which, of course, affects your bottom line and impacts your overall GM rating?
