I've also hit them using the contact swing with chipper, mccann and glaus.
    PC version here:

Using your sliders Blazzen (having some good games), and seeing similar results as well. Sitting on a fastball with D. Lee and got a hold of one with a Power Swing. Launched over the left field wall at Wrigley. Later in the game, went the opposite way with M. Byrd (Contact swing) and deposited one into the cheap seats in RF. Even caught one with R. Theriot.

Noticed that their is difference in the swing speeds this year, which I like (some may not). Adds another little wrinkle to hitting. The Power Swing is a quicker swing than the Contact swing, so you have to take that into account when you are using it. Also, depends on the location of the pitch. Up in the zone you've got a better chance of going yard. On other pitches, I've hit hard shots to the gap, down the line, hard groundballs, etc...

Also, the HR's I've hit with Power Swing have been just with the Power Swing, no Left-Stick influence. Only time I use Left-Stick (w/Contact swing) is when I'm trying to go the opposite way to move a runner over, trying for a fly-ball, etc...

Enjoying your sliders so far, Blazzen.

A weak slider (but one that still breaks) on the black will get hit harder, more often than a perfect, straight fastball down the middle. That has been my experience with this game for years and I don't think it's right.

This used to be even more evident with the meatball, but though that has gone away, poorly executed pitches still, IMO, seem to give a bit of a bonus to the hitter.
In addition to poorly executed pitches getting hit harder (even if they're in good locations from the pitcher's perspective), it also seems that the AI will almost always swing at these pitches even if they are in a location they wouldn't nonarally go after, and in counts where they wouldn't normally swing.

2K really needs to work on this aspect of the AI, because it has been a problem for years now, ever since they introduced the meatball in 2K8. It's not as bad as it was then, but it's still not right.

So true. Fantastic post. Glad you brought this up. I noticed myself missing a bit more with the power swing even though I have 90+ contact. I only hit singles with contact, except for the occasional gapper which I turn into a double with my speed. My power swings are doubles and home runs (only 6 though). I only use it on advantage counts.
