Re: 360 Patch soon
2K8's Three-step pitching was horrible. I do like the throwing mechanic though. It allowed one to correct the direction of a throw.
I do hate how I can't tag up on a fly out until the catch is made. The fielder stays in between both bases until the catch is made before tagging up. With "rocket arms," unless they have a high speed rating, there's a slight chance they're not making it to the next base.Comment

Re: 360 Patch soon
This is not true. You can go back to the base and tag up. What you are seeing is the normal procedure on a flyball that a runner will not advance on. It is better to go half-way for a jump if drops it. But on legitimate advance opportunities the runner does go back to tag-up.2K8's Three-step pitching was horrible. I think OF arms are stronger than they should be. But in practice, it has not affected gameplay as much as I would have assumed. I can get a runner from 1st to third on singles, and I've had runners score from first on doubles into the gap.
And I'm not sure what could be wrong with 2K8's three-step pitching. It at least added difficulty to what has become way to easy. I just completed my first season in the minors as a closer in My Player. Even with ratings in the 50's, and definite variability with location when I did not hit my gesture, I walked one man over 27 appearances. And I finished with an ERA over 4.00 (it was over 6.00 for most of the time).
Maybe three-step is not the way to add the variable location, but I'd really like to see something done on this front.Comment

Re: 360 Patch soon
Restarted my franchise, tried it. First game went good but I had 3 runs against the CPU in the 3rd or 4th inning. 2nd game I only had one run and cpu had one run and in the 8th inning I noticed the pitcher for the cpus reset to 99 and finished out the game and thats using default rosters with no edits whatsoever.Originally posted by gilgamesh348Reset to default rosters.Comment

2k8's pitching wasn't significantly harder than this year's. It was just clunkier. I think people often fail to realize that maybe their just better at pitching than the average person. I normally walk about 2 guys per 9 innings, which seems pretty right to me. When I used Kawakami, I threw about 45% balls. If you don't hit the gesture, you'll miss your spot. It normally won't be by a lot, but if you're throwing to the corners like you should, you'll throw a lot of balls.Comment
