I suck at hitting!

Okay so around this time last year my ps3 bit the dust. And even though I have always loved The Show, all of my friends are on the 360 so I decided to make the switch. I didn't play 2k9 because of how bad it was, but with all of the improvements I decided to get 2k10. Overall I think 2k10 has the potential to be a great game, but I can't hit my way out of a paper sack! I started a 'chise with the Royals just so I could get the hang of things and here I am a few days later and I am finishing games on the pro level with 7 hits and 0-1 runs! Please someone give me some hope that either: a) I will just have to relax and get used to the swing stick hitting or b) that the Royals suck to bad for a novice to be playing with them!

The only thing more frustrating than my lack of hitting is the pc's. I do pretty well pitching and with the Royals staff the most runs I have given up in a game is 3!

I'm having the exact same problem. I think to get more realistic pitching you should put it on All-Star or Legend, but for Batting, Pro. I play on pro for getting used to hitting, and I have thrown nothing short of a shutout everytime. But, it goes into like 15 innings because I can't score any runs...once I get my hitting down I"m going to move up to all star and that way it will get better scores.

The same crap just happened to me! I went 15 innings with only 8 hits and no runs! I may have to start switching the batting to pro and then pausing and going to all star when in the field until I start hitting the ball. I may also have to try a different team.

I have realistic succes on All star default. In this years game you truley have to work the count and be patient to get your pitch. I use the swing stck with power 90% of the time.

Do you use left analog stick when you hit? Still unsure if it makes much of a difference.

Same with me.

Maybe am i doing the batting wrong? Like for power, do you wait for the pitch to start and then swing back and front? What I am doing is just pull the stick back even before the pitcher winds up and then when it's close to the zone I push up to swing.

Anyway, I really am having a frustrating time hitting. i did try a minor league game and did better but vs the mlb teams I am really bad.

Any advice?

This is how I bat: Right before the pitcher releases the ball, pull back on the stick, then up (obviously) when the ball crosses the plate.

Have you guys messed with the user contact slider.....that will help for sure, if you're having trouble hitting.

thanks I will do that. So don't just hold the stick back and then swing when the ball comes. Wait for the pitcher to release the ball and then hold back and push up.

I dont want to mess w/ sliders because I like getting the achievements.

I have been doing the same as some of you guys. I hold back on the swing stick way before the ball is released. This explains a lot. And I also don't want to mess with the sliders because of the achievements.
