    Cut-Fastball and Slider

Anyone notice that cut fastball and sliders are reversed? Cutfastballs cut away from the righties and sliders cut away a bit further from the hitter. At least from the graphics shown after the pitch they are flip-flopped.

Everyone throws theirs a little different, but from my experience a true cutter has more horizontal (left to right) movement and less vertical (downward) movement when compared to a slider and typically the movement/break on a cutter isn't as big or sharp as a slider (though there are exceptions - see Rivera).

I think the OP is thinking of a two-seamer (sinker), which from a righty tails in on a right handed hitter and usually down a bit as well (though again the amount is going to differ by pitcher - See Greg Maddux or Derek Lowe). Maddux got much more latteral movement and guys like Lowe or Webb get a ton more downward movement.
