What difficulty level do you play on?

For those of you (like me) that don't use any sliders, what difficulty level to you play on?

For me, I am playing on pro to get youst to the controls and being a 2k noob when it comes to baseball games. So far I'm loving it! On pro I'm 3-3 in spring training, its a little difficult for me right on pro but I wanna move up one level to make things real fun! So, what level you play on?

P.S. Don't make fun of me playing on pro lol

No one here will make fun of you playing on pro. I've only recently moved to All-Star, after playing on Pro intensely for about 15 games. I even tried Rookie level because Pro was too hard at first, especially hitting. Most of my early games scores on Pro was 1-0, 0-2, 2-1, 2-0, etc. Hitting was too hard and pitching was too easy.

That's exactly how mine games are now on pro. Hitting is hard but pitching is easy. How has All-Star done for you? I wanna move to that level, I have games right now on pro that I can't hit worth a dime and others where I just mash. Hopefully All-Star will be good, anxious to see how your faring on All-Star.

I have the same problem the CPU doesn't score enough on pro.

I play on All-star default using swing stick only. After the initial learning curve, I now recognise pitches real well and get very sim like numbers. I think All star is the sweet spot most people will land on once they adjust to the hitting.

Exact same problem with pro, I could throw a shutout, but can't bring around runs, have been playing Exhibitions on All-Star to try and get used to it know...have to be a lot pickier with your pitch selection. For example, I had a bad motion and left a curveball up that got rocked. And with hitting you just have to wait on your pitch. It's like real baseball, if you continue to swing at balls, they won't throw strikes, if you don't wait on your pitch you are going to ground out or strike out everytime. Would still like to know if the LS makes a big difference and if for power swings you come back on the right stick in one motion or you hold it there and then fling it forward.

For me while playing on pro, I pulled the RS down and held it while the pitcher starts his motion then of course pulling it forward to swing at the pitch. This has got me 90% of homeruns when I have used it. I think it will work either way.

So far, it sounds like All-Star would be that happy-medium for hitting and pitching.

I agree completely... now that I've played a little bit I've learned (very similar to real life) how to recognize certain pitches and I can now be much more patient at the plate and wait for my pitch.

As for using the LS - I just don't use it all that much. I've found that it's too much of an absolute. In other words, it over exaggerates the intentions of the batter - if I try to pull it then I REALLY pull it, if I try to hit a long sac fly then the ball goes WAY up in the air but not nearly deep enough. So I've resorted to swing timing/pitch selection for aiming my hits and I've resorted to Power Swings for long sac fly balls.

As for using the power swing I also had this question but I just recently determined that (as stlchamp10 also stated) that the power swing is very effective even if you hold the LS back while waiting on the pitcher to start his motion. In other words, I do not believe there is any sort of timing element to the power swing and I'm actually thankful for that. It would be very hard to pull back and then push forward in a timely fashion...

Ok, glad to see that the power swing you can just pull back and then push forward, here I was trying to pull back and fling it forward really quick :/ lol
