I like it A LOT. I am another that has both The Show and 2k10, and there is a lot to like in 2k's offering.

I have played some genuinely good games of baseball, that felt so sim it's amazing. I just had a ridiculous game against the Rays. They scored 1 in the first on a sac fly against Lester, but then I shut them down with Lester for the rest of the game. However, I couldn't score at all. So they brought in their closer in the ninth, and I rallied with four hits to win 2-1.

So much fun. Lots of walks, fouls, hit variety, etc.

Im really liking this game overall too. A few things like fielders taking horrible angles in my player mode, and if you sim a season it seems like every ace type pitchers era is 5 or up. But the Hitting/Pitching is really well done.

BTW Ed Wade built the 2008 world series champs for us here in philly. While he was here he diddnt trade utley or howard. Then he went to the astros and gave us brad lidge for a pack of bubble gum and some baseball cards,Thanks ED.

Seriously, MLB TODAY and MY PLAYER is probably the only thing I will play in this game, and I like that. Really, who has time with any baseball videogame to play all Franchise 162 games or even half of those! It's too much and the games (SHOW/2K10) just take too long. But with MLB Today, I can play those important real life games and still feel satisfied. And MY Player is just so awesome and addictive. I actually like it more than RTTS since I just got called up to the big leagues. Last time I played RTTS it took me about 2 seasons in the minors to get called up. That maybe more realistic, but for a videogame, i like 2k's approach

Re: This game is really awesome

Since a lot of people are using their first post to bash the game, I'm going to go the other way

I think this game is awesome. It plays a really solid game of baseball and I find myself immersed in the "universe" of the game--meaning, I really feel like what I'm playing is of some importance due to the stellar MLB Today feature.

At least once a game I find myself saying "That was awesome;" Whether it's a beautiful inning ending double play, my guy taking out the second baseman to save a rally, or a RELEVANT statistic or comment to the situation that is very insightful, I see a bunch of things that make this game a delight to play.

I'm waiting to start my Franchise until I get opening day rosters, but even without the unpatched game, I'm still very happy with the experience I'm getting, even with its flaws.

Thanks 2K for making a solid game this year and allowing us 360 owners to retire MVP 2005 forever.

Re: This game is really awesome

I'm seriously starting to believe that many here are suffering from battered gaming syndrome after the last few MLB releases from 2K. To call any sports video game lacking fundamental elements of the sport in which it attempts to emulate "awesome" or "great" is a stretch. From the cannon arms, the canned defense, the horribly slow bunt animation, pitching fatigue issues, lack of errors, on and on and on. There are so many workarounds for this game that the workarounds should be a sim game all to itself. Hopefully, many of these issues can be resolved with a patch, but to dedicate a patch to issues that SHOULD have been addressed during testing is a joke.

Can you imagine how the NBA 2K community would react if 2K10 say didn't have fouls, or player fatigue? How up in arms the Madden community would be if penalties were nonexistent or fumbles never occurred?

All games have issues, but lets not call something chicken salad when we all know exactly what from that chicken is rotating in our consoles.

For each, his or her own and this is just one opinion.

People get up in arms over those two games even without the issues.

Some will like a game, others won't. You did say "to each his or her own" so I know you acknowledge this, but I don't think the issues are good points in basing this reasoning.

Agree with you on Madden and NBA 2K fans. Just used those two as reference. But perhaps some of that is built out of expectations. Our, MLB 2K players, expectations have been reduced to a simple, "Hope it's better than last year." What can truly be gained under this format? Not a lot. 2K10 isn't awful, but its far from being on par with the top sports titles out there. I would just like to open up a copy of 2K and say, "This is it, this is what I've been waiting for," instead of thinking it's simply better than last year when last year's was an admitted joke.

Re: This game is really awesome

There may be some battered sports game syndrome at play, but I think many of the problems or issues are a bit overblown. Number one, while not as prevelant as they should be in a sim-type game, there are errors in 2k10. Outfielders drop fly balls and pitchers flub bunts, but there are no infielder, ground ball, or CPU throwing errors (at least that I have seen). So I can definitely agree with you there.

As for the rocket arms, I really don't see what people are complaining about. I have never been thrown out attempting to stretch a base hit or score from second a rocket arm. In fact, the only time I see the "rocket arm" is when there is a funky infield animation and a play that would be a routine out is a little closer than it should be--and it seems like the CPU compensates by "rocketing" the ball over to ensure the out. Yes, it's weird, but in my experience, rare, and because it isn't preventing something from normally happening, is more a graphical issue than a gameplay issue. It seems like the CPU always throws to the cutoff man on those close plays and the relays allow the runner to advance as normal. While not "sim" worthy, it certainly isn't the "gamebreaker" that everyone dramatizes it to be.

Stealing is difficult and the CPU seems to have a lot more success than they should in defending and executing steals, but I believe sliders can rectify that problem.

I have never played a game that didn't have gremlins. No game is perfect, even The Show. This game is far from perfect, but for me and many others is fun to play, which is what it is all about.
