When do you pull back on a power swing?

Still trying to be successful using power swings... Do you pull back and pause then forward, or one fluid motion after the pitch is thrown?

What are you guys having success with?

I don't want to rely on contact swings only.. too basic.

    Thanks.

I pull it back right as the pitcher goes into his windup and I can hit homers pretty much any time I want.....which is why I rarely use the power swing. The contact swing is much more balanced.

I pull it back really early and simply push up when I swing. All one easy motion.

Pretty much the same with me. I only use it with certain hitters and in certain situations. So I pre-load it and sit on my pitch.

I have success with both swings... just depends on the player, the situation, and what I'm trying to do in that at-bat.

So right when hes starting his motion, you hold it back then forward?

The default option in 2K9 was that they removed any sort of timing influence based on when you pull back. They still had the other option that was a default in 2K8.

I can't believe how many options they changed the defaults on in 2K9 and completely omitted in 2K10.

Sometimes I'll hold back as soon as my batter steps into the box lol. I don't think it matters when you start to pull it back.

I do a twitch motion when I want to use the power swing. I rock back and fourth using the right stick and push up when I get a pitch to hit. It helps with my timing so I stick with it.

i hold back on the stick early, before or during the pitcher's windup doesnt seem to matter (you'll notice the batter "loads up" anytime you hold back on the stick). then when im ready to swing, i simply push up on the stick.

I pull back on the right stick when the pitcher is about to release the ball. It's a habit that I picked up from 2K9, so I've stuck with it. I think one fluid motion is better than holding it back as soon as you step into the box. Just my two cents....

Ok, then do you pull back, release to let the stick re-center, then push forward on the swing?

Or do you pull back and the swing motion becomes all the way back on the stick to all the way forward?
