    Sidearmers and knuckleballers

Anyone here hate these types of pitchers? I have a hard time hitting fastballs against sidearm pitchers because of their unique delivery.

You sound just like me. I cannot for the life of me hit a knuckleball. I really don't like sidearmers either, but I was able to score 7 runs in 5 innings off of one a few days ago. Other than that, I'm usually held scoreless against them.

Whenever I face either of the two, I usually just try and take walks and tire them out. I figure I better make them work and get them out as quickly as I can to give me a better shot against someone else.

That's pretty much why most of these guys are in the majors to begin with...their unique delivery is tough for many hitters to pick up. Most of these guys don't have over powering or stellar stuff, but their different arm angle and release point make it tough on hitters...at least initially.

Knuckleballers tend to throw lots of balls out of the zone, so I keep my eye on the ball and try to work the count. Contact and defensive swings work for me. Patience too.

Submarine and sidearm pitchers give me problems as well, but I just try to pay attention to his delivery, and keep an eye on what pitches are thrown. These strategies basically help me do well enough to have a chance against them.
