Thinking of buying MLB2K10 for PC, little help please

Thinking of buying this game, but I'm very concerned about the amount of bugs/glitches that are already out there right now, and I don't want to buy it to find out that the game is totally unplayable and that I'll have to wait for a patch that will take forever.

So what do you guys think?

    Should I buy it?

PC owners, give me the low down.

    Thanks in advanced.

I don't have PC but there is no way that any of the bugs and glitches can completely ruin the game this year. 2k9 yes but not this year. The game itself is very good. I believe you should get it but that is completely up to you. Plus its cheaper on PC then on 360 and PS3.

I forgot to mention the fact that people create a crap load of mods. You will have extremely accurate rosters, ads in stadiums, etc. If I was a PC gamer and I had a high tech PC I would probabally buy the PC version over the 360 version just because of mods and what not. There are so many more extra things for PC that make it that much more realistic.

MLB2K10 is waaaaayyyyy better then MLB2K9 but the support for PC-Customers will be even worse like NBA2K10 (still no pc patch for the most of customers, over 5 months of waiting and counting).

Cheaper than the console, and looks great, but I honestly would not recommend buying, at least pending a patch. Frankly, even a patch is unlikely to make this game fun for me. I am looking to build a franchise and play over a number of years (like I had done in the past with High Heat 2002). The user interface is too clunky to build a franchise at all. Want to check out who to trade for? Good luck - you have to go into each individual teams and sort through players. No player finder feature. Want to know a player's potential before pulling a trigger on a deal? Well, to see that, you have to be in the player edit screen. These things would probably not be fixed by a patch. However, giving an option for the classic batting/pitching might be. Having the game recognize a gamepad in drills and My Player mode might be. As the game is now, I am gravely disapppointed. I did not buy 2k9, so I can't say if it is better - it just isn't there yet.

my experience with this product is mixed; positively awesome graphics, indepth player content ( updated rosters ); however, i am unable to play due to serious issues; my game locks up, repeatedly, when i choose ' drills ' under game modes ( how else can one learn to bat/pitch/play d ? ); also, in any action, it locks up; i am on my fifth reinstall and hoping for the best; i have ample horsepower ( 3gb dell, vista sp2, nvidia 9800 card ); one other issue i take exception to is the program appears to install direct x 9, when i am running direct x 11; i am in prayer/consultation with support now

Thanks for all the feedback you guys.

I might as well give it a try. Only $30.

I have it on PC and have not run into some of the issues people are having here. I have win 7. Runs great for me. I use an xbox controller wihtout issue. There will be some great things coming out of the mod community for this game which will make it light years better than its console brothers.

I am in the same position as the OP. Thinking of buying the game now that it is out on steam. The main factor for me will be the mods that are released for the game. So I don't know if it is allowed to tell me about other sites but I am interested in knowing if there are any mods planned, what types of things are moddable as far as gameplay is concerned, and whether there is another forum or site that is more devoted to mods that someone can direct me to.

I bought it today and I have to say that I'm very impressed. It looks amazing, better than The Show in my opinion. (Yes, I've played them both.) I'm liking the gameplay so far, and overall I think it's a solid game. And of course PC mods will make it even better. I'm not a huge fan of the interface, but I can deal with it.

For $30, it's an easy decision.

Pc is the way to go you will see more mods out there plus remember the Xbox360 and PS3 has a 10$ video card in there system as of today standards i had the same video card as the Xbox360 Pc version like 3 years ago and it was still only a mid grade card , so kinda a easy call . PC ALL THE WAY , Plus that MVPMODS site is the best around for mods

+Outstanding Hi res textures and Lighting if you have a powerful video card & system
                          +Great presentation

+Many uniforms and throwbacks...all spot on
+Better and more fleshed out than MLB 2K9

                          Minus
                          -----
-Too many animations are somewhat robotic and stiff....lack natural motions
-Fielding lacks animation variety, you'll see plenty of rehashed webgems too often
-Simplistic baseball situations and relationships outside of the basic fundamentals
-Lots of Batting stances but they all merge into the same swing animations
-Hit trajectories and variety seemed to have taken a step back from MLB 2K8
-NO ERRORS! (or FAR too few)
-Questionable Franchise GM AI, trades, Free Agent signings, etc
-Lacks alot of the 'Little Things' that you will see from time to time in baseball
-Overall game is still another year away from delivering a completely polished game of baseball

I own this on the PC and have The Show 10 and there just isnt the depth, variety, and player likenesses that Sony's game offers to keep me interested. Every now and then, I'll launch 2K10 from my PC to play a quick game but thats about it...I guess Im fortunate I have a PS3. I guess I would play 2K a little more if I didnt.
