I may have just run into the dreaded franchise freeze

Okay, I win my series against Tampa Bay and it does the autosave thing, but now I can't get into my next game, which is against Colorado. I just tried twice to go in, I select play game, and both times, the game froze before the controller select screen could appear for that game. I think I may have run into the dreaded franchise freeze, which I hope is not the case.

Just curious if you ever fixed this? I'm three months into my Royals franchise and am now encountering the same thing. Every time I go to play a game or advance, it freezes up. Sometimes right away, sometimes after an inning or two (or advancing a day or two).

why is the freeze happening and is there a way to prevent this?

So far as I have heard the most common causes of a freeze are as follows;

-Using custom music track has caused freezing during games.
-Using custom created teams has caused freezing at boot-up.
-"Generated" rookies cause the game to freeze in franchise mode when they come up to bat. (Hopefully the patch fixes this)

"generated" rookies does this mean come Sept of year one I could be screwed.

It means the positon players who were drafted that get called up freeze it. So yes, in september(since there's no other time players get called up besides spring) you'll almost surely be screwed unless you can get lucky and avoid the cpu using them.

Just a follow up note...once I cleared my cache, the freeze went away and I was able to continue my franchise no problem.

Yea, any game patches have to be reloaded when you clear the cache. All your saves, achievements, etc stay...the achievements might disappear, but will be received again when you actually go into the game.

This is exactly what I did. The achievements load when you enter the loading screen. They just started popping up for me like I was unlocking achievements for hitting the Start Button.
