Franchise stat problems
So after the new roster update, I decided to finally give franchise a shot. I simmed through the spring training games and went straight to opening day. Looking at the stat overlays as I come up to the plate, it keeps showing what is labeled as last years stats, but they are off. I'm using the Giants and they credit Sandoval with 28hrs 105rbi instead of 25/90. Some of the other players are off too, Torres has 8hrs instead of 6. I'm thinking maybe they included the simmed spring training stats into the stats from last year, but since I simmed, there is no way to know if that is where the numbers are coming from. Has anyone else noticed this?Tags: None -
Re: Franchise stat problems
I just finished the first series of the season and it still wrong. It's fine for all the other teams, just my Giants team is screwed up. I didn't notice it until the second game, so I'm not sure if it was wrong on opening day as well.
On a side note, I noticed after the season started that a lot of teams sent stars down to AAA and called up low level fake players. I found griffey, ortiz, and vlad in the minors. I have full control of cpu rosters, so I was able to call them back up, but I can't figure out how to edit cpu lineups. So now they are all in the majors, but sitting on the bench. 4 hrs of Franchise so far and nothing but frustration. At least I'm 3-0...Comment

Re: Franchise stat problems
Yeah, I was going to wait for the patch too, but after the rosters came out, I figured the patch would fix the gameplay issues during my franchise. Didn't think I'd have to wait for a fix so that I can use the correct rosters.
So does anybody know if there is a way to edit the cpu lineups in Franchise? It would be a lot of work to go fix them all, but I'd rather do that then have screwed up teams. It would be nice if you could start the season with the new updated rosters and not have the cpu override all the rosters for no apparent reason. I think there is a problem with the cpu picking rosters coming out of spring training... and of course the brilliant move of adding spring training stats to 2009 season totals.Last edited by p00p1; 04-17-2010, 02:16 AM.Comment

Re: Franchise stat problems
Ugh.
We're getting in the terrority of this upcoming patch being CRUCIAL in regards to saving the game. Some might think that's extreme, but with such a broken franchise mode, I can't call this game 'good' even if I want to. Without a working franchise mode (not asking for it be perfect) this game is useless to me.Comment

i haven't noticed the SP/Stat glitch yet, but i have noticed the CPU doing odd things with Roster management on my test franchise.
Damon for the tigers was benched and A-jax was sent down.
Roster management has stunk for both games this year.
If this was made note of weeks ago, it might be fixed in the patch.Comment

Re: Franchise stat problems
I havent played anything but my player because of the Budget glitch,Pitch managment AI glitch, and a whole bunch of other things which really sucks because MY Player is like a ghetto version of the actual game, but is actually more playable.Because even though all these problems exist in my player, i dont have to pay attention to them.Comment

Re: Franchise stat problems
I encountered this franchise stat problem, too. So I started a new franchise and this time when it gave me the option to set the 40 man roster I had the computer automatically do it, and so far the stats seem fine. Not sure if that's what caused it, but it did work for me.Comment

Re: Franchise stat problems
Hopefully the sim stat issue is getting fixed. On 2K's website, they did a little feature where they simmed a season and those stats looked pretty good. If it's not addressed, I'm calling BS on their article with the sim stats because for as many seasons as I've simmed, I've yet to see anything as realistic as their sim was.Comment

Dan Haren winning the NL Cy Young with a 3.05 ERA, at least to me, is a pretty good tip that their stat generation is still terrible. Brandon Webb (2006) is the only guy to win it with an ERA over 3 in the last like 20 years in the NL. Of course it's possible, but not all that likely.
Would love to see more stats (that I'm sure they would never show), and I'm trying to keep the faith...but I doubt that was simmed with the magical patch we're all hopeful for. So I'm thinking either they handpicked a season that looks good, or they tweaked their **** for their little study.Comment

Re: Franchise stat problems
Their article didn't show **** for stats, and I'll call BS now. Showed 4 categories for a total of 5 different players. I'm willing to bet the real anomalies (total team HR's, outfield assists, etc) still showed themselves.

I've always been pretty easy going about sim stats in sports games, but 2K's engine is just ridiculous.
Hopefully they patch it up. I think with all the negative feedback about it, they will.Comment

Re: Franchise stat problems
The reason is because you didn't click, "Sim to Regular Season." You instead simmed ahead day by day.Comment
