New patch?

In the new patch would it be possible for them to make it so on the edit player you have more options like having long sleeves, high socks, batting gloves, etc. I really don't like how you don't have the option of doing this it would be great if this would be improved, do you guys agree?

You already can change these things in edit player. Pretty sure it's on the 2nd screen in edit player. You can change sleeve length(short, 3/4, long), sock length(high, pants at the ankles, pants covering shoes), and batting gloves(one hand, both hands, none). There's also many other things you can change as well on that screen.

I tried this, doesn't work, I am on PC, and they are currently making a patch so maybe they could add this..that would be great!

as much as I want this game to be good, 2k has really dropped the ball with satisfying their consumers. No word of what they fixed in the patch, they don't support all platforms at the same time. I feel this game can make a run at any other b-game out, they just need to fix these issues before they release this game. Not sure what input these mlb players gave 2k because they should have mentioned that some things just didn't look or play right. with that said, I really hope this patch is everything we players imagine it to be.

The new patch needs a lot. I recently shelved this game after to many frustrations with Franchise. I might go back to it if the patch solves a ton of issues but i doubt it. 2K doesn't have a reputation of caring about the consumer after the game is sold.

Should be headed to Sony/MS this week. So its not far off at all. Then when its out to them, we will get patch notes as per usual.

I don't understand how the patch goes to QA only after it's done, they should be working on this as the changes are being implemented, either with dev QA or the original QA team. This actually leads me to believe they don't have any in-house QA and are using a third party, probably in a different country. Could also be a reason why the game has some of the problems it does, offsite testing is way cheaper, but you definitely end up getting what you pay for.

what they do is make fixes, then play it and QA tests it, to see if they find anything big that they messed up while doing the new changes. Its like a dev team of say 15 that is qa'ing it cant find everything that another grp of 15-20 or whatever can. Its like when games hit live and sometimes they miss things becuase once it hits live 100,000plus people are now playing it and there is a much higher chance at them finding a bug that didnt happen in the QA /Dev testing.

Every single gaming company has QA testing, you have too or it will be worse then they come out at times. Though sometimes companies know damn well they shipped the game with issues, but dont have time. Just do research on it and its really really common.

I hope they come out with this patch soon. I've been waiting to start my franchise.

I hope they tweak the MLB Today feature as well. Cool concept, but pitchers are being used on the wrong day, schedules have every team playing "Tori Hunter and the Angels" in their upcoming series, the "up" or "down" arrows which I assume are momentum type indicators are really screwy, and the league records can't decide whether they want to show up or not.

This game COULD be awesome and that's what's so frustrating while we wait for the patch.

There's no doubt 2K shipped their product with numerous known bugs...which is why they were working on the first patch before it even was released to the stores. They are cutting of their hands to spite their face when they do this. By this time, all the negative publicity regarding the bugs in the game have killed any momentum they could have gained by this release. It would have been easier to just bite the bullet and pushed the release back a few weeks.

Sure, they may have lost a few units because The Show was released at the same time, but many consumers are more savvy these days and will wait to purchase a game if they think something better is coming down the pipe.

ALL sports game producers really need to re-address how they do business.

Not every company has their own QA dept. Sometimes developers QA their own game, sometimes the publishers handle QA. EA for example eliminated a lot of their QA and now sends it to South America and India. Most small studios build their games and send new builds to the publishers to test.

The dev team can't be responsible for QAing their own fixes. For example whoever put in check swings could not test it on their own, there are too many different variables. Most developers use a separate QA team (Dev QA) to test fixes/changes as the code goes in. I'm just saying the way it's been said "Patch delivered to QA" makes it sound like there was no QA during the development cycle for the patch. If so that is a sloppy way to do it. It will prolong the submission and increase the likelihood of something being missed.
