Im not sure if this is something that can be patched, but I wouldnt mind seeing the stamina being fixed. Also, it relation to that, the whole getting left in way to long with your My Player sort of ruins the experience, especially when playing on a higher difficulty.

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
It's very hard to believe that this game still hasn't had this major patch yet. The one thing that is preventing me from playing is the fact that the pitcher fatigue isn't fixed. That ALONE makes this game completely unplayable for me.
Strategy goes out the window.
Immersion goes out the window.
And we still don't have a patch to fix this yet.Comment

Is it just a display error or is actually resetting the pitcher's stamina? I've heard that it is only in display only...but I guess that could mess with the CPU's AI into thinking that they got a fresh arm out there...Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
I've had a few beers tonight, so I'm going to throw out something that I hope is coherent...
Guys, I enjoy this game... at times. It's not perfect, but I don't expect it to be. I can spend days on My Player and feel satisfied. What is missing though is a working franchise mode. Heck, I've spent hours upon hours making a prospect-laden roster (shameless plug; but check it out if you haven't already). Obviously I would NOT do that if I felt that this game was a lost cause.
2K has taken steps forward this year and I have never intended to deny that. The game plays a better game of baseball for the most part, though there are still a multitude of glitches that really harm the whole experience for me. Does that mean I hate the game? No, this game reminds me of that kid that everyone went to high school with... You watched him on a field or a court and at times he showed absolute flashes of brilliance. He was by far the most talented player in the school, but he wouldn't study and he just didn't care. So much potential and from the looks of things, he was wasting it all...
Well, that's how I feel about this game. It's the best desciption I can give. I've bought 2K's baseball game, against my better judgment, for the past three years. I've been disappointed three years running. Who's fault is that? Mine, if you use logic, but I always wanted to BELIEVE in this game, this company, and I guess I still do.
When I say I want to see patch notes, I say that because I want to see if this game has a chance. I realize and understand FULLY that releasing patch notes is not the way things are done, but I was hoping that 2K could step out and throw us a well-deserved bone. Like I said earlier, it's not hard to disclaim the fact that perhaps some of the fixes won't make it in to the final patch release if it's discovered that said fix corrupts or hinders other (working) parts of the game. After releasing a list and disclaimer like that, how can people get mad? At least 2K showed enough grit to say, "We realize this is a problem, we tried fixing it, now hang tight to see if it works..."
For instance, take the edit limit. Now, I can't find the exact quote, but in an interview with one of the developers, the question was asked on whether there was an edit limit this year. 2K's response? No, there would be no limit. I was pumped about this. It couldn't be confused, either. This quote went straight to the heart of editing player's NAMES, not their batting stances, windups, or anything else. Lo and behold, the game drops, the roster editors get to work, and sure enough, the edit limit shows it's ugly head. There was NO response from 2K about this, none whatsover, just Ronnie2K making a loose statement saying that they might be able to "extend" the edit limit. He went as far as to question whether people were making it up because I think he didn't even believe it himself! No word from 2K, no explanation. There is nothing, nothing at all, cool about that.
I'm not slamming 2K. If that is what people get after reading my posts, well, the message is either not being read correctly by you or not conveyed correctly by me. I just want them to follow through... To work at gaining some trust. I go to another game's forum and you have developers there ASKING GAMERS HOW THEY CAN IMPROVE THEIR GAME. That is neither here nor there, but nonetheless it's awesome to see.
Is that too much to ask with 2K? Really guys, are some preliminary PATCH NOTES too much to ask from a company that KNOWS they have put out a horrid product lately?
Ask yourself that question. If you say, "Well, that's just the way it is," I would say to you that you do not understand that sometimes in business, a company needs to take that extra mile or trust will never be earned again.
I apologize for the rant. I'm done now.Comment

Great post Felix! I agree with you 100%. Take this quote to the 2K Sports forums & you'll certainly get slammed.I've had a few beers tonight, so I'm going to throw out something that I hope is coherent...

Your comments about the editing limit is "spot on". The darn interview with Sean(game developer) specifically stated "NO CAP LIMIT". The game drops & a short time later many gamers start receiving the edit limit message.
Ronnie was even shocked to see this like you said. Telling us that this was being "looked into" & possibly the limit could be "extended" or "eliminated" isn't good enough. Why was we told a lie basically? We get no answers & 2K Sports failed to address the issue at all. We are left hanging with no real explanation.
I don't wanna hear people state wait til the patch notes to see if it's listed. What's wrong in today's world & from a well known company to address the issue beforehand? Oh, I know why. They don't wanna us to know. It's just bad business & a sorry way to support a game.
It's 2K Sports though & why should we expect any better with the MLB 2K series game? It's a shame but unless we start sending messages with our wallets then this will continue! Way to go 2K Sports!

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
Im telling you man i had it up to here with 2kSports. Dude i this the first time in a long where i havent played a sport game or enjoyed a sports game. Not NCAA 10, not Madden 10, Not NBA2k10 because of 2nd patch. Now here is the last chance to play or enjoy a sports game and im getting the same results. A broken down game where the devs lied about cap limit i mean come on man. I honestly going to buried the hatch on sports game leave this genre because i am seeing no great improvement. The sports that are on the next level are the sports game i dont play or follow in real life, like FIFA and NHL( EA version). Cant play MLB the show because i dont have a Ps3. I done man im hanging it up bro sports game genre is dead to me man cuz i dont see the great improvements that will take the games I mention to be on par or to that next level with FIFA or NHL(Ea version). I just dont see it happening man.Last edited by stateprop; 05-03-2010, 09:04 AM.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
I hear that. I actually bought NHL. I'm not a hockey fan but the bruins are doing well here in MA so I got a bit excited and I figured I'd give it a look. I just wanted a good sports game to play. It's pretty fantastic. It's just fun to play a good sports game for once. I'll take that right now over playing a game that has issues in a sport I like.Im telling you man i had it up to here with 2kSports. Dude i this the first time in a long where i havent played a sport game or enjoyed a sports game. Not NCAA 10, not Madden 10, Not NBA2k10 because of 2nd patch. Me personally though I like 2k10. It's a pretty good baseball game. I just play MLB today games with it and haven't even bothered with franchise mode because i've heard about all the issues.
The thing is EA got me on madden. They got me on live. The even got me on ncaa basketball 10. All those games have since been traded in. Now they have me playing hockey and i'm not even a hockey fan. So they've basically milked me for whatever. 2k got me on nba 2k and this game. I actually like this game though. It was worth the money imo..... Yeah it's 2k and they suck. So does EA though.
I was reading about how 2k is in trouble and cancelled their hockey series and college hoops. That's an issue imo. If 2k goes under then EA can do whatever they please. That isn't good either. It's an issue when these companies have basically purchased licenses and taken the competition away.
The reason NHL is so good is because if it wasn't no one would buy it. EA can basically release the same crappy Madden every year and so many meatheads including myself are still going to buy it. Maybe i'll just buy tiger woods next year or whatever they are going to call it (male prostitute 11?) and start golfing. Maybe they will add buttsecks for an an added fee as downloadable content.Last edited by kgisyourfather; 05-03-2010, 09:25 AM.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
I think we were certainly told a lie about the edit limit. I made a point over at 2K Sports at this as well. It's surely no lie about me expressing my frustrations over there but what good does it do really? Now here is the last chance to play or enjoy a sports game and im getting the same results. My point about this is how can a game developer tell us this about the CAP & it turn out to not be true? I said it's either just not caring & telling us a lie or the game just doesn't get adequate testing. I think it's a combination of both really.
The game has never had enough testing or we wouldn't need so much to be patched. I mean every year it's tons of things with this game that needs to be fixed with patches. That tells me that the testing of this game is horrible. Add to that the evidence of being lied to with the pre-release game interview then they have a sorry way of supporting this game.
I have never really liked this game anyhow. This year with MLB 2K10 there was some improvements but still with the bugs/glitches & the continued sorry game support then this will be my very last purchase of this game series for sure.
I will now stay strictly with The Show on my PS3. I was just hoping for a solid baseball game for the 360 as well. That is never gonna happen it appears.NCAA- GO VOLS

This one PO'd me when I first heard some guys saying that they hit a limit in editing rosters. Personally, I don't go through and rename all the minor leaguers, but I know there's plenty of guys on here willing to do it for the community and they were blantantly lied to(there were a few interviews where it was said no edit limit).Originally posted by KingFelixFor instance, take the edit limit. I was the one who asked him the question. Maybe I'm misinformed, but isn't approval the last step before the patch gets released by the console first parties? I would think approval has to do with Sony and Microsoft making sure everything is according to protocol regarding the patch before they send it off.Comment

Re: Next Patch is coming soon
It hasn't passed their own QA department. Once that's finally done it gets sent to the third parties which is normally a 2-3 week process. MS pushed through the last patch really quick as a favour. Sony doesn't work that way. The patch won't be out until the end of May and that's only if Sony and MS don't find a problem.I was the one who asked him the question.
