Everything Finds A Hole!
Has anyone else noticed that when playing the computer they seem to have streches where everything they hit finds a hole. this seems to happen to me 1 or 2 times a game. it understandable that teams get hot but it get rediculous. when it happens i start throw 2 seam fballs, slders, and curves way way out of the strike zone and the computer still swings and somehow get hits. most of the time they are slow rollers in the infield right between my defenders and somehow they cant ever get to them. i was just curious if anyone else noticed this.Tags: None -
Re: Everything Finds A Hole!
Have noticed it a few times. I've had a few perfect games going into the late innings (7th or later), and they'll get one hit, which turns into 3 or 4 just like that. Usually with the same type of pitches. Very frustrating to be pitching so well and then have a collapse like that.Teams:

Re: Everything Finds A Hole!
You need to check your defensive alignment almost every batter. Even if you don't have an "Inside Edge" scouting report for that partucalar team the CPU will still pre-position your defensive player for what they "think" is the advantage.
However, the CPUs alignment is almost always middle in for the infield, sometimes they left/right align, and for the OF the CPU will put your players deep w/o the most fear hitter being up.
The result are these little seeing eye singles that get throught the infield, and liners that could be fielded for an out in the OF drop in for singles because your fielders are too far back to make a play on it.
Its bad enough the CPU initially starts your infielder at a bad angle to a ground ball, and then it compounds the problem by playing them middle-in. Suggest you check the defensive alignment, especially during those crucial moments if a no-hitter is in effect. Even if it's not warranted I like to mostly play my infield "back" because it gives them time to get the ball and most fielders have a rocket arm so you don't have to worry about the ball not getting to first in time.
As for the OF, mostly adjust them back to normal, but if Denard Span or David Eckstien are up I almost always play shallow.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Everything Finds A Hole!
2K needs some new animations becasue that "infielder running like a WR to basket catch a looping line drive" is killing me. It's the ugliest, stupidest looking play I've ever seen, and it occurs WAY TOO OFTEN!
Make the fielder jump for it, or let the ball go over their head. ****!
You would have to have eyes in the back of your head!
(When I was a kid in the 80's I had neon green sunglasses that stuck out far on the edges, and had little mirrors built into the sides of the lenses so you could "look" behind you. At the time I thought they were totally bodacious... but in hindsight I must have looked goofy. Anywho; maybe 2K puts those glasses on everyone and we just dont know it... Tubular! Kowabunga Dood!)
They still make em! LOL

BA DA DA DA, BA DA DA DA, BA DA DA DA.... DADA! DADA!
My favorite thing about bases loaded was the 12 made-up teams. (Team Omaha, Team Jersey, Team Utah, Team Boston, Team D.C.)
and the umpires names...
PL: Yuk
1B: Dum
2B: Boo
3B: Bum
That and the catchers mit "floated" away and became un-attached from the catcher himself if you threw an outside ball.
(I still play it on an emulator once and a while to remember how far games have come.)Comment

I recently played RBI Baseball with my cousins at a family gathering. We were all complaining about how there were so many frustrating things in the game. We complained about the fielding and hitting. It was great, but reminded me about how nothing mattered back in the day.Teams:
