    A Good Alternative?

Hey guys I would like to start off saying that I love MLB 10 The Show but 2k10 seems to have made some strides this year.

So with that being said, for you guys that have played The Show a lot or a decent amount, is this a fun enough game to purchase with The Show?

I like the pitching and hitting styles (right stick) and it seems like a fun game. I have played the demo and it seems nice but does it have the same amount, less, or more bugs than The Show?

Any answers would help because I am thinking about getting it.

    Thanks!

The Show is wayyy better, but the game is not fun to play right now until they fix the "runner scoring on third base after the third out" bug. It should be fixed prolly in two years or so. I suggest you wait until they fix it or buy another sports game. I do not like MLB2k10's graphics which is why I am not going to sell in MLB 10: The Show for it.

      To answer your questions:
If you are big into the career modes I would go ahead and lean for 2K as well as the show. The pitching and hitting is done even better than the demo.
As far as bug wise, The show has been plagued pretty heavy this year so, I think 2K has its fair share of bugs two. I dont see any real gamekillers. That arent supposed to be patched by either game. Solid pick up if you want to play no arcade, but minor sim, very fun and innovative baseball.

I was a first day buyer of both 2k9 and 2k10 for PC.

I've also purchased and played both The Show 09 and 10. (My roommate has a PS3)

The Show is BY FAR the better purchase. Don't spend the money on 2K10.

They aren't going to fix the lack of errors and injuries. Franchise mode is completely broken past the first year. There are so many other little things that just add up to a no-brainer if you have the option.

Those of us on the 360 and PC (me) don't have that luxury. The single reason you would want 2K10 over The Show is for the commentary. Vasgersian and company are so tired and boring to listen to - Gary Thorne and company are a great, great commentary team and it sounds so much more organic and life-like. That is the one aspect of the game 2K10 soundly and completely nailed.

          Re: A Good Alternative?

My best friend is an avid Show player, and the last MLB 2K game he purchased was 2K7 on the PS2 and since then, he never looked back. After playing many MLB Today games and helping direct me in Franchise (I am semi-new to baseball), he actually wants the game now. He says it is very fun to play and that The Show just feels like an updated rosters, despite its graphics and animations.

Coming from a PS3 user - I owned MLB The Show 08, but did not play it as much as I am playing MLB 2K10 right now. Also, I am tired of the online lagging and I need online play to keep me afloat cause just playing Franchise can be boring.

I can only imagine how good MLB 2K11 will be next year. This is definately a big stride because I can actually play Franchise mode.

I think it is a nice alternative. The controls and gameplay are different enough from the show to make it interesting. It is not as "accurate" a game as the show, but it is still fun. In fact I get less of the scripted feeling from this game than the show. When I play 2k10 I feel like I can play in a more casual way which is a nice change. I like both for what they have to offer.

Thanks for the responses guys. I just have another important question,

How is the franchise mode? The Show seems to have a potential problem and it seems like 10 years in that everyone in the league will have 100 overall.

So with that said, are there any huge bugs that take away from 2k10?
