how do i check swing>

Hi Guys i just downloaded the PS3 Patch and i am using Classic Batting and still cant check swing how do i do it and if i cant do it on classic how would i do it on the other battting option? please help thanks

Tried to figure it out and I did - as soon as you go to swing at the ball by snapping the analog stick forward, you have to quickly snap the analog stick BACK and he will do a check swing animation. Just did it

what about on classic batting where i use the X button to hit as i dont useally use the sticks as its too hard for me

or is this just for the sticks only if so i guess i'll have to go with them then

also something weirdwhen i downloaded the patch it said like it was 60000 something KB Which is awful small so i begin to wonder how all that stuff could make it in a 60000 kb patch? vary confused thanks

Actually it's the green A button (but not a big deal). And I just checked: no check swing on classic hitting (as best as I could tell). I tried it quite a few different ways and nothing...

Hey man hang on dont retrun it cause i got great news!!! i just figured out how to check swing on classic hitting just quickly tap X and you should trigger the check swing try it out

but i am glad i figured it out as i hate the total control hitting since i struggle with but now i know how to check swing with both total control and classic let me know if i works thanks

I tried tapping X when I first tested it (see my post-patch post). I'll try it again, but according to others it's not working.

hmm weird cause it worked for me infact i did it like 2 times in a row and both times the home plate umpire appealed to 1st base and was ruled no swing

hope you figure it out as it works for me good luck!

Yeah, I think I'm returning this game. I can't check swing by tapping, even on normal controls it is too much work to check unless you intend to before the pitch even passes by, and the game just ain't that great. It's fun, but the issues are bugging me too much to have that much fun overall.

You should try playing with the analog controls, the check swing is awesome with this. I really didn't see the purpose of doing a Check Swing in The Show when all you had to do was lightly tap X. Now, with Check Swinging in this game, when you push forward with the stick you can snap it back and the batter wont go all the way now that is realism. Give it a try.

Uh, stop pulling back on the stick when you swing? I'm not sure how one can accidentally do a check swing.

I just said that I tried that, and it didn't really work unless I like was intent on doing it even before the pitch. As I've said before, I seem to be the only person here in the world with the most unresponsive swinging. I mean literally if I start swinging when the pitch is halfway to the plate, the feedback will still say that my swing is "late", even though I may make contact.

Whether I use Classic swinging or the Swing Stick doesn't seem to matter, and though I normally blame my HDTV from lag problems, this is something much, much different and much, much worse. I don't have any such issues with any other facet of this game including the pitching meter, and games like The Show I have zero issues batting despite an 8 ms response time.

I'm very surprised that no one has a problem with swinging like I do. The fact is, I need the check swing mostly because of this input lag.


As far as the check swing system, I think they should allow you to check by letting go of the stick as well. I think that pulling back should be the "snap back" kind of check swing, and that letting go of the stick and letting it re-center should be the "stop and hold" kind of check swing, where maybe it would have a few more consequences of possibly going around or making contact.
