Can't seem to figure out why I suck?!

I am not complaining at all here but, I am doing a season with my favorite team the Detroit Tigers 104 game season created myself (I know) Work my sliders to my level of skill and here is my record so far: 6-11. I am hitting .342 as a team my team ERA is 4.67 my team AVG with runners in scoring position is .347 with stats like this why am I 6-11? Still having a blast with this game and like I said I'm not complaining but I will just keep fighting for a division title. I will keep you guys posted.

I just played tonight against the Twins in the battle of last place. I was winning 2-0 after 6 when I let up a HR the next inning I was in a jam and allowed another run 2-2 "great here we go again" bottom of the 8th Cabrera hits a 3 run HR and we take the lead 5-2 Valderez shuts down the 9th and I win my 7th game of the year and sole possesion of 4th place is mine!! Next I head to Cleveland and hope to gain some ground on the division leaders. I also looked up my past scores and I am 1-4 in 1 run games. My inning of death is the 6th inning where I have allowed at least a run like 12 out of 18 times.

I have the same 6th inning problem with the Tigers lol. It's as if they assume all our pitchers will wear out by the 6th... which is weird. I've been doing really well though, overall. It's still early and I'm only using the default pro sliders. The best advice I can give is keep the pitches low. I'm at the point where the only time I throw a high pitch is if it's well out of the zone and I'm doing the "waste pitch" thing and/or trying to get a strikeout.

Actually the best method I've used is once I get 2 strikes on the opposing batter, I throw high and inside. It sometimes brushes back the hitter, sometimes they swing and miss for a rare K. After this pitch I go low and away in the strike zone with a change up and more often than not I can get them to swing early for a strike out or ground into an easy out.

It sounds like your hitting is fine, but how about pitching? If you're giving up a lot of runs, you probably need to tighten up your pitching a bit (which is hard to do with non-superstar pitchers...pitching with 3-4-5 starters is a challenge in this game, which actually makes it more realistic, but tougher). It seems like the AI really takes advantage of pitching mistakes. Try to nibble the corners as much as possible and don't leave pitches over the heart of the plate. Be very careful when throwing pitches with lower ratings as they're more likely to get hammered. Also, make sure your nailing the gestures as tightly as possible (use the analyzer for practice).

It's wierd when my hittings off my pitchings on and when my hittings on my pitchings off. I score 7 I let up 8, I let up 2 I score 1. My avg is a little high because I had two games where I scored 12 runs each and had 20+ hits. In my last 10 games (I love how they show stats like this) I am hitting .312 still good but, I will have to get my pitching and hitting lined up together and string off a few wins. I'm 7-11 with 86 games to go no time to panic just yet but, I need to start winning 6 of 10 and get the record at .500 soon.

I never play franchise mode or anything really outside of my player with a pitcher so this is just a guess, but your probs in the 6th inning could be because that is usually when a pitchers fatigue starts to kick in and accuracy/movement will start to fade.I notice with my pitchers stamina at 89 its usually around 6/7th i will see my slider, which is my best/out pitch ovr 90,start to miss its spot alot more often and the movement on it starts to drop.
This is with pitch fatigue at 55.My pitcher is an extreme stikeout pitcher so my pitch count gets a lot higher than it usually would playing this game because i try to get guys to chase a lot so these numbers might be a little skewed if you are just throwing strikes constantly.

Just the beauty or agony of baseball I guess. I'm 37-24 with the Tigers though and have done well in close games. I'm trying to recreate the rookies that are coming up and I hate the fact that edited names don't show up on their jerseys since the patch. Eddie Bonine blows in my bullpen.

Only a couple small tweaks since the patch. Pretty much what I've been using for most of my dynasty.

well got swept by the Yankees. Game 1 was 1-0 yankees after the 1st when Verlander pitched 8 more shutout innings. Cabrera hits a HR in the 9th and ties the game 1-1 10th inning I sent Verlander out and he allows a HR to Swisher final score 2-1 Game 2 I allowed 5 runs in the 1st inning and followed up with grand slam by Inge to make the score 5-4 Yankees. tied the game later with a HR with Avilia just to allowe a HR to Granderson in the 8th 6-5 Yankees. 9th inning I hit a HR with Boesch 6-6 on to extras again. In the 10th I allow 3 runs final score 9-6 Yankees for back to back extra innings victories. After 22 games I am now 7-15. I am 1-5 in one run games, 0-3 in extra innings. Now I will host Boston. Man if I don't start winning soon winning season may go bye-bye

What skill level do you use? I'm 16-3 to start my Tigers season but I'm using default pro sliders. I'm afraid to move up to all-star as I've heard the difference between pro and AS is ridiculous

I found PRO to be too easy as well (CPU wasn't scoring enough and I was getting too many hits), so what I did was keep everything at PRO, except I moved CPU Batting Power up to about 80 and drop Human Batting Contact down to about 40 (You'll still be able to unlock cards/achievements since you're not making it any easier than PRO). It'll make it more challenging without making it TOO hard. I get some very realistic games with this and feel like I'm really earning it every time I win.....every game is a battle, which I like, and when I do lose, it's usually a very close game. You also have to be more careful with your pitching (which I like because it's more realistic), because it makes the CPU power hitters more dangerous. On standard PRO, I'm never really afraid of the CPU hitters, so I'm enjoying the game a lot more now that the pitching seems more realistic.

I will have to post my sliders tonight. I think its a mix of pro/allstar sliders. game feels good to me but I keep falling short maybe a slight tweak will help me
