    check swing?

How do you check swing in the game? I see the computer do it, can we? is it a simple tap the A button after you during your swing if your on classic hitting?

If you're using the right stick, you have to pull back after you've started forward. It's nearly impossible to do!! I like the right stick control, but they need to come up with a different way to check swing.

I disagree, I usually end up with five or more good check swings a game. You just have to decide soon enough that you want to hold back. And pulling back on the RS is the most intuitive and perfect method to accomplish this. I'm already pushing up on it to swing, so pulling back is what feels right.

And if you are using classic hitting, then the check swing is nothing more than eye candy. Even if there was a way to pull it off, you would never be able to make that decision fast enough for it to matter. You would have to decide to check swing before the pitch, and that is no way to play baseball.

I'm not sure why the RS is so hard for people in this game. As it is now, it is as simple as pushing a button. Is it really that hard to time a push of the RS over a push of the A button? Even if you pull back for a power wing, it is still one simple push up to swing.

I can understand the pitching being more of a problem, since you are asked to to do unnatural movements with the RS. But refusal to use the RS for hitting s borderline insanity. Heck, they already took out the step factor, so there is now no difference in using the RS and pushing a button.

I love the right stick for hitting (and pitching), but I agree about checking swings being difficult. The pitch comes very fast, the reaction time is a split second whether to swing or not.

Starting a swing and then deciding not to and pulling back on the stick is not natural for me. Natural would be to begin a swing with the stick and then stop my motion before swinging all the way through. I get check swings without trying sometimes, maybe a glitch? It's frustrating though because I'll strike out trying to swing at a low fastball only to have my hitter check swing without ever pulling back.

I place my right thumb on the bottom of the right stick, if the pitch looks good I flip up, maybe my reaction time isn't very good but it's too quick for me to stop mid swing and pull back if I realize it's a curve and not a change.

I use right stick hitting and like how the check swing is done.

              Re: check swing?

the check swing is frustrating. there are alot of times I dont want to check swing and I check swing, and it usually happens with using some combination of the left directional stick and the right swing stick.

but other than that the hitting in this game is challenging and fun. getting caught looking is such a natural norm in this game.

It's near impossible with classic hitting. You have to press the A button (360) twice quickly, but because the time-span to make that decision is no longer than a fraction of a second, it's kinda pointless.

Right stick hitting is great, and the check swing isn't that bad. You just can't pull back and expect it to work if you've pushed up already. I've realized that it really just works if you pull back before pushing halfway up on the stick. A split second decision to make, just like in the real sport. Works fine for me.
