Why do baserunners run back to their bag on a line drive with 2 outs?

Man on second 2 outs in the world series against the philles oswalt pitching (im down 3-2 in the series after winning the first 2 games) i get a 2 strike line drive up the middle would easily have scored except for some reason like alwasy the runner went on contact,stopped went back towards second.THERE ARE 2 FREAKIN OUTS WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN.Im sry i know nobody cares but i had to yell somewhere

Hell, I don't even think how they round the bases is realistic. They don't actually round the bases. It's more like 90 degree turns.

I noticed that a long time ago, but hit the LB button in order to advance the runners to prevent that from happening.

2 of my biggest pet peeves: the way runners retreat to a base w 2 outs instead of taking off for the next base; and the way runners 'round' the bases.

I noticed that a long time ago, but hit the LB button in order to advance the runners to prevent that from happening.

I have tried doing this but they still go,stop,turn back,then go to the next base which either ends up with me getting thrown out or not scoring on a base hit with a man on second.
Does anyone know if this is connnected at all to a baserunners "awarness" stat?

Im sure they are aware of it.I mean they did test this game before the put it on the shelves diddnt they?O wait 2k made this game,they just throw crap the wall and hope it sticks,and if not they can always say there is gonna be a patch that will fix it,then when the patch comes out they can put in the patch notes that the problem is fixed,but it really isnt.Yea i wish i could do that at work.
Sry boss i just screwed up all my work for the last week and shipped it out without checking it.But i promise i will fix it /lightbluntandchill.
