How is this different for any game in any sport? Sometimes they flub, sometimes they just don't have time to do a better job. As long as we have annual releases, this will always be the case. You could turn it around and appreciate that they are taking our concerns seriously and trying to improve.

We may not like that it took two years to develop and implement the new fielding, but that's what it took to fix the problems that they had from 2K9, which was produced on a short schedule after 2K fired Kush. In between, 2K produced a rudimentary fielding system that didn't have errors or really took nto account player ratings.

I doubt 2K11 would be a better game if 2K pretended that 2K10 was perfect.

I have no problem with just showing pitch counts and the range they should be in. That will give you a very good idea of how tired a pitcher is.

I was hoping for some more info. One of the biggest things I want to hear about is sliders. What was added to the game? I don't care if the game plays arcade like on default (too many HRs, too accurate pitchers, whatever) as long as I can tweak the game to suit what I want. 2K10 had a very poor selection of sliders. I want pitch accuracy, cpu batter aggression and tons of defensive sliders. I'd love to get more info on that.

They talked about franchise mode but what about fatigue in franchise? Last year your DH got really tired just swinging a bat. A pinch hitter with one at bat in the game got a full game's fatigue. Playing a short season had fatigue all messed up and nobody got tired due to all the days off.

Has anyone here read the preview on game-informer the magazine? in it it talks about how it is important for the user to keep the pitcher within the range of pitches, because if you don't then what will start to happen is that your starter may not be at 100% for the next game. so if you are pitching with Tim Lincecum and your range is between 90 and 110 pitches and lets say you pitch 120 he may only be at 80% or 70% for his next start. and that's the importance of the pitch count.

I was wondering about dynamic attendance, will we see any results from franchise or MLB Today games? If u are having a losing season, will u have 40,000 in the seats or 9-10,000? It wasnt in MLB2k10, i hope its in MLB2k11, it adds to the realism of the game. Also when we have mound visits, will the coach and catcher come out too the mound or just the coach like in MLB2k10?

As some of us said in the other thread about pitch count, it sounded more that the indicators for stamina/energy were removed...it never said that the concept of stamina was. Pitch count mainly determined pitcher stamina in 2K10 anyway, so it seems that, at it's worst, it would probably be at least on-par with 2K10.

I disagree about putting an energy bar in the pause menu. If it is more an indication and tracking change than base function, as I suspect it is, I think it adds a nice layer of strategy to franchise and career modes. Managers and players don't get a bar that pops up that say "you're pitcher has 23% left." Conceptually, if we are relying on pitch count and visual/performance indications to make such decisions, it's far more immersive.

Of course, that depends on how well the system itself works, but again...it's impossible for any of us to say at this point.
In My PLAYER - does this years version show you on the field ONLY when the balls coming to you?

That sucked last year as you always knew to react, hopefully it's fixed and you can be on for every batter like a real game.

I'm more intrigued by the fielding ratings than anything else. If it works as advertised I'll be very happy. In too may baseball games it didn't seem to matter who was in the field as they all seemed to have the same fielding ability. Hope it lives up to the hype.

One thing I'd like to see is video footage of actual gameplay from camera angles you'd use while playing. The closeup stuff is okay, but I'd like to see it from camera perspectives we'd use. I'm definately buying the "other game" but looks like 2K may very well get my money too. Time will tell

Good article overall, but there's still a few things that I'd like to see addressed. Pitch accuracy and sliders are big things for me.

Hopefully we'll get some in-game footage soon so we can see the new fielding animations at work.

the show or 2k11 not really a baseball fan and last baseball i game was probably 3 years ago. I don't mind playing the sport but hate watching it just to boring and repetitive. Want to get back into it so what game should i purchase. I do own all 3 systems so i have options i'm not limited to one system

It seems this game is getting really deep into the personality of baseball. It's much more involving when you have to make calculated decisions that can have multiple affects within your game. 2K seem to be giving the game a much bigger role play feel. Most sports games Franchise modes are quite limiting in regards to the actual decisions you can make. It looks like MLB 2K might be changing that.
