    Re: 162-game season

Did this once before and was amazed to finish. With 3 kids and a full time job I will be lucky to finish a 104 game season. I am still on game 65 on 2k10
    Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

      Re: 162-game season

I haven't done it since 2k8 and even then I simmed a few of the games that froze on me late in the game cause, I got sick of forcing myself to re-play them. I won the World Series that year, then simmed 99% of the next 5-7 seasons. I think franchise is funner when you sim a lot of the games cause, you can quickly tweak the team to how you want it to look(Get your favorite prospects on the team, free agents, etc). Playing every game of multiple seasons just takes too long. By the time you finish your first season, the new 2k baseball game will be on the verge of release.

In 2K10 you could. I did the shortest which was 52 games (basically they take the real schedule, but you only play 1 game of each series. The other days are off days). I really enjoyed it, but I am not as hardcore as most other OS'ers. A few drawbacks that might bother some folks are fatigue not really being a factor, season stats/milestones being off etc.

There really isn't a perfect way to do it, so you have to pick your poison.

I am probably in the vast minority, but I would like to see them spend a little more time on short season mode. Ideally work a schedule where you still have to manage fatigue, and can work in two game series vs division rivals (2K3 did something similar).

I can never play 162 games in a season. Mostly because I like play multiple seasons and if I play 162 games I'll get burned out. What I try to do is pick one or two pitchers in my rotation and play all of their games. That usually turns out to be either 1 or 2 games out of every 5 or 6. Keeps things moving and I feel like I really have control of at least a few pitchers and their stats all season.

Cant do it..the closest I came was last year with the "other" title.

Id rather play a college length schedule and play 4-5 seasons, then never being able to finish one.

I have been with The Show for the last few years. In that game, I would play one or two games, then sim a few. I never tried to play all the games, simply because I liked simming to move the season forward. I tried to play at least one game per series.

I'm getting MLB 2K11 (I now have XBOX and want the change of pace) and I'll probably continue playing the same way.

                    Re: 162-game season

I've gotten through many 82 game NBA and NHL seasons, but never a 162 game baseball season. And here's what sucks about it. Years ago, when I was in high school/college, I didn't because I wasn't satisfied with the baseball games then. Then only way I was going to play out a franchise is if I got realistic stats and no game did that. The main issue was always walks, whether pitching or batting. I enjoyed games like All-Star Baseball, MVP and such, but the stat realism just was not there. High Heat had the statistical realism, but it's lack of a real franchise mode also kept me from playing out a full season . But at the time, had I been satisfied with the stats and had a good franchise mode, I could have EASILY done it. But now, here we are with games that do have that statistical realism (The Show does for sure and hopefully 2K11 will do so this year) and good franchise mode (copy and paste previous comment), but I don't think I have it in me. If I had had these games when I was in high school, I probably could have gotten multiple seasons deep.
