Mets are finally in the win column (1-5)with a 4-1 victory over the atlanta braves...DJ Carrasco goes 7 strong innings, giving up only a solo homer to Dan Uggla.

Game 2 was Richards vs Buehrle...

Mark Buehrle made his Cardinal debut and he was lights out picking up the player of the game and pitching a complete game shut out while striking out 10!

Also history was made when Justin Morneau picked up his 1000 career hit...

Congrats...not that I don't secretly enjoy seeing the Mets losing, but congrats on your first win.

ALL 30 TEAMS FRANCHISE / PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES:

Avoided the sweep in ATL by eeking out a win in the final innings of the final game of a 3-game set.

Phillies and starter Cole Hamels were cruising through 4 innings. Despite having given up a solo-HR to Jayson Heyward in the 4th, the Phillies still lead 4-1. However, w/ a 4hit-3run fifth inning the Braves tied the game up, and it was a ballgame again. Hamels would struggle in the 6th, but not allow a run and it would be the bullpens job to get a win in still tied 4-4 game.

Herdon threw a scoreless 7th, and Madson figured to sit ATL down 1-2-3. However, he got behind McCan to lead off the 8th, and McCann took advantage sending a solo shot to RF to take a 5-4 lead. Madson would walk the next batter, and surrender 3 more hits and 2 more runs as the Braves took a 7-4 lead into the 9th...

Leading off for Philly was the pitcher spot, and Ben Francisco stood in for the pinch hit AB. He would knock the first pitch to left for a base knock. This one was not over yet! Jimmy Rollins would follow, and young ATL Closer Criag Kimbrell was having a hard time throwing strikes and walked Rollins. Victorino would single in Francisco, Ibanez would double in Rollins and Victorino, and this game was tied!

Ryan Howard would be intentionally walked, and Kimbrell would be lifted for Scott Linebrink after entering the game w/ a 3run lead, allowing Philly to tie, and never recording an out.

Linebrink would retire Polanco on strikes, and get John Mayberry to fly out to center. With Brian Schneider getting the start in order to give Carlos Ruiz a rest it was up to him to score Ibanez from 2nd. He would come through w/ a 2-2 single up the middle and the Phillies were in the lead!

Wilson Valdez, who entered the game hitting .200 in 15ABs, would get his 4th hit of the game to drive in Ryan Howard from second base and the Phillies had a two run cushion heading into the bottom of the 9th after pinch hitter Delwyn Young was retired.

Jose Contreras would pitch a 1-2-3 inning, and Philadelphia improved to 5-4 avoiding a sweep by the NL East leading ATL Braves.

          * Ryan Howard missed the cycle by a double. He put PHI on the board in the 1st inning w/ a 2-run HR, his 6th of the yr, and reached on a triple after Nate McClouth misplayed the ball off the wall in CF.

          Philadelphia last 5 games:
          Win vs NYM 5-3
          Win vs NYM 5-1
          Loss @ ATL 3-2
          Loss @ ATL 5-3 (Oswalt tagged for 5ERs in 2.1 innings - pitched w/ a groin injury)
Win @ ATL 9-7 (PHI scored 5 runs in 9th inning)

          NL East Standings:
          Braves 6-4
          Phillies 5-4
          Marlins 4-4
          Mets 4-5
          Nats 3-6

Since this game has such deep sliders, I don't even bother with changing to set levels. Just make a small change here and there to the existing sliders to make the game more competitive for you.

Finally started my "test" franchise, basically just trying to learn the game while I wait for complete minors rosters. Did a fantasy draft as the Rangers, and did alright drafting.

Up until now, I had only played My Player as a starting pitcher. Long story short, I lost 4-3 and I struck out 18 times. Last baseball game I played was 2k9, and I used the cursor hitting on it because I couldn't get the analog hitting down. I'm still terrible at analog hitting.

Just beat the Nationals with Halladay pitching a gem.

                      9IP / 3H / 0ER / 0BB / 11K

That makes 3 starts, and 3CGs - this being the first of shutout variety.

Gonna have to start throwin the bullpen in the 8th or 9th so that I don't burn up Halladay.

On the season he is now 2-0 with a 1.00. ERA and a 30:1 K:BB. His opp average now sits at a most dominant..... .186

Game #2 with fantasy draft Rangers went better......kind of. I still struck out 17 times (in 8 2/3 innings), but Vernon Wells hit a walk-off two run homer in the bottom of the 9th with a 0-2 count and 2 outs off of Brian Wilson to win the game 7-6.

AJ Burnett's career as a yankee is over. With garcia and nova pitching well, the rotation wasn't in as such bad shape, and I sent him and some minor leaguer i had just called up for mike leake. Hopefully, leake will eventually settle into that 3 spot in the rotation behind hughes and sabathia.

In other news, after losing 5-3 to the redsox, I bounced back in the second game of the series and won 12-9. The yankeesjust tore up beckett, hitting 2 two run jacks in the first inning, by tex and cano. He settled down in the third, but not before giving up yet another 2-run dinger to an injured posada. Boone logan came in in the ninth with a ten run lead but managed to give up five runs with only 1 out. With men on the corners, I brought in robertson, who forced a DP to end the game. Next game is a Nova start, who is trying to notch his second win of the season. The yankees record is now 7-2.

IN other news, Derek Jeter has been put on the 15 day DL and Bobby Crosby was signed, although, he will platoon SS starts between him and Pena. Brent Gardner has been on a tear as of late, having a .400 avg along with 5 stolen bases in the past week. Swisher has been struggling though, whiffing 8 times in the past week, including a 3-strikeout game against lester. IF he doesn't bring up his play, He'll have his 2 spot in the lineup taken by granderson. Going to camden yards after this game.

So i'm sitting at 43-23 with 3/5 of my rotation and Prado & Hinske out. That gives my a 7.5 game lead on the Philz (36-31).

The only team that has a case of being better is the Blue Jay sitting at 43-24

After dropping two close games in Boston the Jays return home to Rogers Center to face the New York Yankees.
It wasn't Romero's best outing of the season, giving up 3 homer runs. Teixeria kicked off the scoring in the 1st with his first of two shots on the night.
In the bottom of the 3rd Juan, I can't Hit like this in real Life, Rivera blasts his first of two long flies on the night. The Jays would later manage to scratch out another run on a throwing error by Jeter, Escobar scores. Yanks lead 3-2
Nick Swisher leads off the 4th with a home run to dead center. Posada followed that up with a double and would later score on a Nunez single knocking Romero out of the game. Casey Jansen came in relief and did fine job holding the Yanks scoreless for a few innings.
The Jays chiseled away at the Yankee lead with 2 more runs in the bottom of the 5th on back to back doubles that would eventually knock C.C. out of the game by Bautista and Lind. Lind would later be thrown out at home to end the inning. Yanks lead 6-4
Flash forward to the bottom of the 6th and with one out Juan, How The Hell Does He Do It, Rivera goes opposite field for his 2nd home run of the game. This seems to spark Toronto as they start to hit the ball with authority and explode for 8 runs in the bottom of the 8th capped off by E5's mammoth shot to center. Jays come back and win 13-8.

Jays are now 7-4 while the Yanks drop to 4-7 on the season.

So I'm playing 3rd and final game of Phillies @ Nats in April.

Cliff Lee is on the mound, about to retire the Nats 1-2-3 for the first time through almost 5 innings, when in the middle of his next pitch (slider), he buckles and goes down w/ a neck injury - out 1-2 weeks.

Ok...whatever, I was losing 3-2, and there's still 4 innings left to play no bigger...EXCEPT...Lee's animation glitches out, and the view of him taking one knee in his injury animation remains on the mound for the rest of the inning and into the next.

EDIT: I took a pic from my phone but am having issues uploading/copying&pasting it.
