I actually just saw your thread just after I made that reply. I personally didn't have a problem with my injuries. My injuries all went down after my game. I posted some thoughts I had about the situation in your thread. Thanks for the info tho.

I hate to keep posting about every game that I play, but I'm excited, I've finally got a win streak going.

The Giants went into Arizona to face the D'Backs. Scoring was at a premium, as the first run wasn't scored until the 3rd inning, as the D'Backs pushed across one. They would hold that lead until the 6th when Pat Burrell would knock in Aubrey Huff from 3rd.

Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez pitched through the 8th inning, but Brian Wilson came in to replace him in the bottom of the 9th. Wilson made quick work of Arizona, sending the game into extra innings, where Aaron Roward would hit a lead off home run that would prove to be the deciding factor.

The bottom of the D'Backs lineup was strong, getting bases loaded on Wilson with none out, but Wilson was able to retire the next 3 batters and preserve the win. The Giants have now won 3 straight.

      Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

Giants winning streak ends at 5, but it takes 2 extra frames to get the job done.

Lincecum pitched brilliantly, going 8 full innings and getting 12 K's, giving up just one run. With a score in the 7th inning, the Giants took a late lead against the division leading Rockies.

But unfortunately, Brian Wilson, coming in for the save, would give up a run sending the game into extra innings. Coming up with 2 outs in the top of the 10th, rookie Brandon Belt, recently called up from AAA due to Audrey Huff's injury, knocked in a big time RBI once again giving the Giants a late lead. However, once again, Brian Wilson would fail to preserve the lead, and the Rockies would tie it yet again.

The Giants failed to score in the 11th, and Javier Lopez coming in for Wilson would surrender a leadoff triple, followed by a base hit to knock in the runner.

Giants fall to 6-10 on the season.

        Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

Started the season 5-6 with the Indians... Went on a 9 game winning streak. I have now won 8 out of my last 10 games and two of those were Blown Saves by Chris Perez.

Put him on the trade block and got an offer from Baltimore... Mark Reynolds (3B)... W0000T!

So, now my closer is Joba Chamberlain (via an early season trade).

        Loving this chise.

        Currently 13-7

          Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

Update on my Orioles Franchise (Year 3):

16 - 8 on the young year as defending WS champs, although I have struggled the last week against the Sawx and the Yankees. I had started 14-4 up to that point. Hopefully buying the IE reports on both teams will help as much as they did last year.

I have moved Josh Bell from 1B to 3B after studying up defensive numbers a bit. Turns out Josh bell is rated a 93 defensively at 3B while Mark Reynolds doesn't have a noticable drop-off at 1B. While I was comfortable having Mark Reynolds at 3B (he's been there 2 years now), it made sense with the numbers to make the move.

Vlad Guerrero refuses to give up his reign as AL MVP quietly. He's hitting .460 with 4 HRs and 19 RBIs already--by far the best on the team--despite a ratings decline (I think he's 38?). At the same time, Felix Pie is hitting under .200 with 0 HRs, and I'm still struggling to find the everyday SS between JJ Hardy and Robert Andino.

Hardy had been the SS last year, but after a terrible year, I decided to hand the reigns over to Andino for the last month. He went on a tear and came up big in the playoffs. After giving Andino the shot to win it full time early in the year, he's hitting below .200 while Hardy was hitting over .300. So now we're back to JJ Hardy at short.

Matt Wieters, who 2 years ago was a small but important player in the lineup, is now a full-grown anchor. He has taken (for now) Vlad's coveted 3 spot in the lineup and bumped him down to 5th against RHP. Adam Jones continues his ascension to be one of the top CFs in the game. He is hitting second due to his speed, but he really has turned into a 5-tool player that can play anywhere in the lineup.

Still loving this game, especially now that fatigue works!

So I started a Franchise with the Mariners with updated rosters which i was so happy about like basically all of minors....right now im in early May, Milton Bradley has been my RBI producer at the number 3 spot hit a grand slam in oakland that sealed the win for my team.....but last game i played he slid into 2nd and got ankle ligament rupture out for a month or more....so I brought up carlos peguero beast LF with great potential.....and then jack wilson got hurt out 15 days or more so i brought up Dustin Ackley who was hitting over 300 in the minors....his first start he went like 3-4 couple doubles!!!!! hesa beast!!! im only leading division by a game an a half its been close so far with all teams within a gm or 2...at one point everybody was tied for first....very competitive! cant wait for playoffs!!!

Using the 2K rosters from last week. Has anyone taken the time to edit everybody's salaries so that the teams' budgets are actually reflective of their payroll?

I know for the vast majority of players, the salaries just need to be increased by 25% per year.

I did it for about 20 teams so far, and available budgets range from 8m to -3m which seems pretty reasonable. I was planning to control all 30 teams and as a rule of thumb, sign FAs to approximately 20-25% more than the asking price to keep the salaries in line. But I'd automate most of the organizational stuff.

Thoughts? Anything I should watch out for?

                    Re: MLB2K11 Franchise Progress

Game 1 of my franchise with the Rangers was amazing.

The first 6 innings was a pitchers duel. C.J. Wilson struck out 10 in 6 2/3 and only made one mistake in the first inning giving up a 2 run shot to Adrian Gonzalez. My team had an offensive explosion in the 7th inning thanks to 2 home runs and I took the lead 5-3. They come back in the bottom of the inning and tie it 5-5. In the bottom of the 8th, Napoli hit his 2nd homer of the game to make it a 7-5 game.

Top of the 9th comes along and here comes Neftali Feliz. Gives up a hit to Youkilis on one pitch, David Ortiz hits a two run bomb on the very next pitch to tie the game. Next two batters get on, then Feliz proceeds to strike out the next 3 batters to get out of the jam.

Bottom of the 9th, Beltre and Cruz fly out. Josh Hamilton comes up, 0-2 count, hits a BOMB to deep right center to walk it off for the win.

I am currently 31-39 with the Pirates.

Post-patch I have won 2 straight. This before simming the sweep game with Houston. Which I consequently lost, but oh well....

In the three game set with Houston, the 2 games I did play were great.

I took a no hitter into the 5th with Garrett Olson, who would get the win and K 9 in his first start of the season; filling in for the injured Paul Maholm. Troy Glaus got it started for Pitt with a 3 run shot, his first of the yr, and he would also homer again as the Pirates won 12-4.

Then in the 2nd game with Houston I took a Ross Ohlendorf no hitter into the 8th, but Hunter Pence connected on the first pitch he saw to break up the no hitter. Pedro Alvarez was the big bat for Pitt in this one, clubbing two homers, and driving in 6.

Update on my Orioles Franchise (Year 3):

I'm now 19-11 and have a 3.5 game lead over the rest of tightly packed division. The Blue Jays tasted first for a day, a couple weeks back, before I knocked them off their perch. Quite an accomplishment for them though, as they had the leagues worst record last year.

Now for the bad news: Adam Jones continues to be snake-bitten in his short career and is out again this year with a significant injury. It looks to be a two month injury so his season totals are going to take a big hit. This is the third year in a row he's been out for an extended period of time. The last two years it wasn't as big of a deal, but now he is a full grown superstar and it's really going to effect my team over the long haul--especially since I'm so dependent on my offense for wins.

Luckily, I have some depth in the OF with Vlad Guerrero (normally DHing), Nick Markaikis, Luke Scott, Felix Pie, and now Nolan Reimold (called up from AAA, a 4 star player, 84 OVR).

I'll have Pie play CF while Jones is out and mix and match the matchups for the corner OF positions.

Currently 13-7 in my 58 game NY Mets franchise.

My offense and my starting pitching has been good but my Bullpen has been horrid.

My last game against Pittsburgh I was up 4-1 and Manny Acosta gave up a two run then solo homer. Then in the bottom of ninth I'm winning 5-4 until K-Rod gives up a solo homer to his first batter to tie the game. I eventually won 6-5 in the 13th inning.

After the Pittsburgh game I decided to see if I have any 4 or 5 star reliever prospects. It turns out I have none. So I traded Brad Emaus to Oakland for Faution de los Santos, who is a 4* prospect.

I have not played any games lately though because I am editing the contracts. Through two days I have 8 teams done.
