Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread

I have a created player I make in both NBA 2k and MLB 2k. He was a 6'10 power forward from Australia named Chris Everett, and now in MLB he's a left-handed closer in the Blue Jays organization.

Right around a 62 OVR right now because you get so few opportunities, so I'm in my 4th minor league season. He's been in AAA (Las Vegas) since Year 2 and purposely have one goal less than he needs to get called up because it's taking a long time to build him up.

95 mph fastball (rated about a 67), slurve (rated around 60) and just added a split change (rated a 54 or so).

Everett has been tearing it up in the minors as a long reliever/setup guy (ERA under 1, roughly 1 K/IP) but getting absolutely shelled every year in spring training, which tells me I definitely need to develop him for a couple more years in the minors.

Besides, who'd want to leave Las Vegas for Canada anyway?

Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread

Guys im hoping you can help. I picked up MLB 2k11 this week and im loving it! first time ive ever played a baseball game though so everything is very new to me. I have a problem though where in the My Player game mode, when batting a lot of the time my player doesnt stop at a base! Its so annoying as it often gets me out. I dont know what button to press to just run to the next base and thats it. The issue doesnt happen when running from Home to 1st, but 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and any combo of them always seem to cause issues. Eg, my guy runs from 2nd to 3rd, and instead of stopping keeping trying to run to home. Im using a keyboard until a controller arrives in the post, but what is the key combo to just run a single base, or stop once you reach a base. I know how to cancel a run, but this isnt what im looking for as sometimes its tight and cant get that pressed in time for the player to get back. Please help!!!

            I got a 80 Overall 2B for the Brewers, i'm 9 games into my 2nd year. I got 76 contact, 79 power and 75 speed.

            In my first year after getting called up I played 60 games. I had 7 HR's, 45 RBI's, 9 SB's while batting .313

I am currently in my players second season, one week past the All-Star Break(which I played in). I'm catching for the A's.

              My stats.

              G(95)AB(419) Hits(247) Avg(.589) 1B(84) 2B(52) 3B(16) HR(95) RBI(225) R(148) BB(10) SO(46) SB(19)

Yeah, its all fun to be one of the best in baseball, but on pace to break almost all the batting records in my second year? On pace to hit 150+ HR's in a season? Come on. hahah

Is it at all possible to adjust the roster and lineups of the team you play for? I ask because I just got clled up to the Giants and the lineups are really unrealistic, especially in relation to what the game uses in MLB Today. For example, it has Rowand starting at RF instead of Ross or Schierholtz and Freddy Sanchez in the #8 spot. Also, Buster is still in the lineup and that just plain makes me sad. I don't understand why the My Player mode doesn't use current rosters like how MLB Today does.

I started a SP a while ago. I randomly chose the royals and i just got called up. I waited till my last start in the minor league to get called up. I throw a fastball circle change and slider. In my first game in the majors I had 13 k's and threw 7.2 innings. What pitches should i add and when?

Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread

I tried SP in the Blue Jays organisation and after having a lot of fun in AA while making my player ready for the majors. After beeing promoted, my first 2 starts we're ordinary. Won the first, but was crushed in the second. I was 1-1 with an ERA of 5.25.

Was about to face the Yankees and CC Sabathia in my third start and would have been happy just to make 5 innings and giving up not more than 5-6 points. Well, it turned out that I got the start of my carreer (even if it's only the 3rd, I don't think I'll thrown another game like that in 10 years).

I gave up only 1 hit (to Jorge Posada), 0 runs, 1 BB and SO 16 in 8 innings. My pitch count was 96 before the ninth and the manager send the closer (with a 3-0 lead). It was coming from everywhere, the Yankees batter seemed unable to touch anything I thrown at them. It was just a great day to remember. :-)

I've got a question that's been bugging me for the past few days now... I have a SP in MP mode, currently at 66 overall rating... what is the quickest way to move the overall rating up? which stats should be improved on first? i've got a fastball (max 93mph, 69 rating), 12-6 curve (58 rating), and changeup (65 rating)...

The only answer I can give you is because it's completely separate from the MLB Today/real lineups. In my Angels franchise (and even my Giants one), there are players who are on the DL in real life, yet are not on the DL in franchise.

Its not in sync with MLB today, your my player may be in year 2, MLB today is at the exact point it is in the real MLB season, so its impossible to keep rosters updated in career modes unless you were able to control all teams and do it yourself. The only thing you can do is restart your my player with the latest rosters but even those rosters will eventually be outdated.

I'm new to this game. Just got it a couple days ago. But I was wondering in this game mode, could you turn off like Base-running or something similar like you can in the show?

                            Thanks.

Started a player a few weeks ago as a SP in the Twins organization. Finally got called up in mid-August after going 6-3 with a 2.50 ERA and 1 save. Averaged 8 K's a game in the minors and had one game with a 1 hit CG shutout.

Going to pitch my 1st major league game tonight.

Love MyPlayer but the run support when you are pitcher is pretty weak. I'm lucky to get over 4 runs a game out of the offense. Lost two games strictly due to no production out of them. Never gave up more than 5 runs in a game but had 3 minor league losses and 3 no decisions.

Oh well, it made pay close attention to my pitches.

Is base running a complete guess to everyone else or does anyone have some kind of tip that I am missing.

When I am running and the ball is hit in the air, I have no clue where it is going. I can't tell if it is a pop up to the SS or a double to the gap...I pretty much just run on anything.

I wish we could change the camera view. It's nice to have the behind the runner view when leading off and stuff, but once the ball is in play I might as well be blindfolded.

Also, I wish we could speed up the base running process even more. I think I play with the most patient hitters in the world. Every at bat seems to be 8 pitches and after walks and strike outs I am almost always stranded on base.

I want to say I have like 2X as many RBI's as hits. Through 60 games, I think I have about 48 RBI's and like 22 runs or something.
