He would have, but he probably didn't have one; the cans have a release date of Wednesday, March 9.Comment

I received another email from Best Buy about my in store order this morning, warning me to pick up my game or else the order would be canceled.
The nice woman behind the counter processed my order and told me she needed to grab the game from the back. She came back, game in hand.
Seconds later, a teenage employee came running out to tell her the game comes out Tuesday. She told him she was going to just give me the game anyway since I was there.
He protested. A lot. She backed down and asked if I minded coming back Tuesday.
I would have had it if some 16 year old at his first job wasn't such a stickler for the rules.
Stinks too. I have tomorrow off.

Kid was just doing his job. I GUARANTEE you wouldn't have "opened a can" either, lol. The game comes out Tuesday, the world will still continue on until then, I promise.Comment

Re: anyone else blocked from buying the game by Wal Mart/Target?
I knew when I went to Best Buy getting the game early was a 50-50 proposition. And despite the fact he screwed my plans to have a baseball-filled day off, he was just doing his job.
I can't get truly mad at that. I probably would have done the same thing at my first job (Software Etc.).Comment

Anyway I wish they still did the preorders the way they did it back when I was in high school. If you preordered, they'd call you the day before the game released and tell you to come and pick it up. That was the perk of preordering. Now, you get some code to unlock something that should have been in the game in the first place.Comment

I'm not knocking you for trying. You were just doing what the email said. It's these jokers that are talking about "opening up a can" because the kid did his job that I have the problem with.

Re: anyone else blocked from buying the game by Wal Mart/Target?
If you think about it, there really isn't a reason to preorder a game anymore. They send enough to meet the demand. When I was growing up, if you didn't preorder a game, especially a major release, you might not get a copy until the store got their next shipment. Now they get more than enough copies to meet the demand.Comment

No they wouldn't have. All that would have done was got somebody fired. And why do that over a video game.Comment

Lol, no. A Best Buy GM is not taking that fine and possibly losing his job as well just so someone can have their game early. Sorry. I'm in management there, and trust me, you would not be leaving with the game today.Comment
