    Re: Official MLB 2K11 - Q&A Thread

    Hi guys

I'm not that familiar with MLB rules, so i ask you.

Let's say player is injured for 48 days. Is it mandatory to place him on the 60days DL or he can be put on the 15days DL for 3 times in a row, then keep him in the lineup for the remaining 3 days? This way you can save 12 days.

If it is possible, how can i do it in the game?

P.S. Please excuse my english, not native.

In MLB, all you need to do is put him on the 15 day DL. You don't have to activate him from it until you are ready.

      From Wikipedia:

"Players are placed on either the 15day or the 60day disabled list, usually depending on the severity and/or recovery time of the injury. A player may be shifted from the 15-day to the 60-day DL at any time, but not vice-versa. The player may not rejoin the team until 15 or 60 days has elapsed; however, a player's time on the DL may exceed the specified number of days, and further, if a player is transferred to the 60-day DL after August 1, he may not return to the active roster that season. The 15-day DL does not count the player on the active roster (comprising the 25-man roster until September 1), whereas the 60-day DL does not require the player to be counted on either the team's active roster or its 40-man roster; however, a teams 40-man roster must be full in order for the option of a placement on the 60-day disabled list to be available."

Thanks Jayhawker, but i meant in the game.
I had a pitcher injured for 48 days, and i didn't have the option to put him on 15days DL, i was forced to put him on the 60days DL.

Should this situation happen again in the future, how can i put him on the 15days DL?

i'm having some issues getting the cpu to swing at pitches outside the strike zone on 0-2 counts with pitchers like Price, Liriano, and Santana, who have nasty sliders in the game and i throw them down and in to rightys. i throw split changes anything and everything that would realistically make a batter knees buckle on an 0-2 count with excellent pitchers and they always take them. does anybody have any thoughts? any sliders i could adjust? i play with multiple teams online, the twins and cubs in franchise and it happens with all teams

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps

I look at the Insider Reports and many times it says so-and-so swings at this or that out-of-the zone with two strikes but it rarely happens, kind of frustrating. I can throw a splitter just barely out of the strike zone and many times they won't swing, then I throw it barely in the strike zone, same place, and they hit it.

I get strikeouts by moving the ball around, changing speeds, and knowing what they like to hit, doesn't always work, but enough to get decent amount of strikeouts.

How are you doing in regards to effort on the pitches? Not only will max effort, or high effort, cause them to swing and miss at strikes, but I believe it can also induce them to swing at balls out of the zone.

You might try drastically slowing down the pitch meter and really work on nailing your pitches. Then, as you improve, start moving it back up again. While effort won't affect location much, it does improve effectiveness.

I hit the meter on max quite a bit, not really any problem there. What bugs me is placing the pitch just barely out-of-the zone and they don't swing, but placing it barely in the zone at same place and they hit it.

The Inside Edge reports of tendencies drives me nuts. I read so-and-so likes to swing at this or that out of the zone and when I try it, well, let's just say they rarely swing at that pitch out of the zone with two strikes.

I get my share of strikeouts, so all is not bad.

I have a question about my player mode. Can you become a free agent or retire whenever you want to? Like play until your 40 and retire and so forth?

                  Thanks

Ok so I waited a while before deciding whether to get this or not. I move baseball and hate having one out there I haven't played. So it seems the game is very playable and a good improvement. What I don't know is whther to grab for the PS3 or 360..
                      Any "pro's cons" to either?

Hey, Sky. I lasted nearly a month before I finally caved yesterday and picked up 2K11 (if you have some 360 games you want to trade-in, do it this week as you'll get an extra 40% on trades) for the 360.

I was debating about which system to get it for and after playing the 360 and PS3 demos, I went with the 360 version. The graphics are cleaner and crisper than the PS3.

Custom Music is easier to set up on the PS3.

Either way, I think you will be happy with the game. It is a nice change-of-pace from The Show.

Will there be any additional jersey options added to this game via a code or patch? I'm stunned that the Padres don't have the Camo unis available, although I did smile when I saw the Ray Crock-era unis in the game.

If you have a powerful PC and a nice (and large) monitor, I'd suggest the PC version. Go visit the later pages of the PC thread.
Visually, it puts all baseball games to shame but you need the PC to run it.

Oh, and did I mention the Mods that you can get for it ?

Otherwise, I hear 360 is the better one on the consoles.

This may have been asked already. Is there any way to turn off the Big circle that appears on flyballs, and only use the yellow indicator to track balls?? Thanks
