    Stealing bases

How the heck do you do this successfully?

In the guide it says hold left trigger. When I do this, the pitcher comes off the mound to pick me off EVERY time.

I have been unable to time it to where you hold... and the base runner goes when the pitcher starts his movement.

Tap LT to lead off. I usually lead off 2 or 3 steps. Then hold down LT so your guy takes one more step and the controller vibrates. You gotta keep holding it down until the pitcher moves, and then let go and you should be able to make it if you're using a fast player and it's an offspeed pitch or the catcher doesn't make a great throw.

I usually take the first few innings to study a pitcher's move from the stretch before even trying to steal. Some guys have a good cue as to when you should take off. I'm not sure if you need that tip though since your post count suggests you are not a noob haha.

Do the pitchers in this game have any sort of pickoff rating?

That would be something to keep in mind then when trying to steal?

They also have an arm strength and accuracy rating that I believe is tied into pickoffs.

Excellent. Thanks! I didn't realize you had to hold the LT down until the pitcher moved. I was getting so frustrated. I would take my lead, hold LT until the controller vibrated, and then let go....and my runner kept trying to steal right away and got picked off by the pitcher every time. I haven't played much MLB2K in the past and that was driving me crazy. Thanks again!

One more question. If I'm holding down LT to steal and the pitcher makes a pick-off move, I assume I'd release LT and hit RT to get back to my base? Or will the base runner automatically dive back to the base on a pick-off move? Thanks, guys!

I always release LT and simultaneously tap away on RT. I hit it atleast 3 times probably haha.
