I usually don't get involved in these type of debates, but...

I don't know are you? You guys really stick together i'll give you that.

These are the kind of comments that they were referring to... it adds nothing to the topic, only helps to derail it.

In reference to EnigmaNemesis' first reply, there was nothing wrong with that. He was stating his opinion on the review (not even the score) - pointing out that the person that wrote it has a history here on OS, as well as other sports gaming sites. When I saw who wrote it, that is the first thing I thought of too.

Thank you. Perhaps if tvman did a little reading around these forums instead of running that mouth of his he'd learn a few things... namely that myself and many others have been in here since day one rooting for this game. Hell, I just made a comment in the preview thread that I'll still most likely be picking this up.

Gotta love it when someone gets THAT defensive over a video game though

I'm a little confused. I decided to go back and see what went down that might have gotten Jonah banned. But he was posting in the NBA 2K thread almost exclusively up until October. And he was basically calling out 2K for not taking care of bugs in NBA 2K11.

I had to go back two years to find any posts in SCEA, and they weren't trolling. But even then, 99% of his posts were in the 2K baseball forum, where he was pointing out bugs and problems with MLB 2K9.

Now, I understand he has a special gift for really getting under folks skin, but what I found did not jibe with what was said here. Even if his offending posts got deleted, his history really debunks the notion that he trolled the SCEA forums.

I just figured if EN was going to use this as a way to discredit his review, there might be something to back it up.

And I am not discrediting anything, he has always been a homer for this game, even when it was at its lowest by consensus in past years.

My point is, it is not in the realm of NBA2K11 scoring, going by review score. That is all. And that is what I want to comment on.

And I am allowed to disagree with his review. That is the point of discussion.

For the record, all of his posts pointing out the problems in MLB 2K9 and 2K10 are still there to see. You might call him a homer, but he was being bashed as a Show homer in one MLB 2K thread.

It still doesn't add up to him getting banned becasue of SCEA posts. Maybe it was his NBA 2K11 rantings?

Personally I do not care anymore. He does not know how to engage in proper discourse.

But as for him being "fair"...

Considering that 2K sent out NO early review copies to ANY major site, but he somehow is the only one to review it, yet no other baseball game review that has been sent out early?

Amazing he can formulate this game is rated as highly as the stellar NBA series with a couple days tops of play time.

I just disagree with him as a whole, is all.

I apologize, but I simply can't resist pointing out that I've read these very words at least a hundred times the past five years about 2K baseball.

I also when I saw who wrote it I thought the same thing. Jonah's shenanigans date back to the usenet days in the pc sports gaming group. He's always rubbed people the wrong way and I find his reviews to be lacking.

Not sure why someone would see Enigma's avatar and think sour grapes other than to further all of the us vs. then bs that is brand loyalty. As if someone who plays or has one game has to dislike the other. That **** is plain stupid and the reason why we have to have such stringent rules. It's people like tvman saying stuff like that which has really caused this forum to become so flammable.

Tvman take Enigmas advise and grow up. This isnt an us versus them situation.

As for the review I can't comment yet. I have 2k11 but haven't played it yet. I will this weekend.

You are correct. And yes you are allowed to disagree with the review. That's the whole point of the forum is it not?

I never really fully trust any review, no matter who writes it. It's just one guy's opinion. We're all different people who focus on different things, and we all have our own unique tastes. So you really just have to try it for yourself.
