Re: PC 2K11
The PC version of the game arrived by mail today. And in typical 2K fashion, the game locks up in the first inning of both games I started. And not just that, I'm unable to log off using control / alt / delete, so I have to shut down my PC using the on / off button -- ouch!
I've only purchased two 2K games since NFL 2K5 -- MLB 2K6 and APF 2K8. And these sorts of crap QA issues are exactly the reason why. Dang!
EDIT: And to add -- I have a top-of-the-line laptop that plays Crysis on the highest graphics settings. And I've been playing PES 2011 for 3-4 weeks now without a single hitch. That game runs flawlessly and has never, and I mean never, crashed on me.
EDIT #2: Crashed again during my third attempt to play a game, only this time I never even got to throw a pitch or swing a bat. The thing crashed during the lineup intro. Ter****ingrific.
Game is smooth and working fine so far! And seems to be the same for everyone else as well!Comment

Re: PC 2K11
Game should be arriving via UPS tomorrow. I'm guessing people are liking it enough, judging by the fact no one has resurrected the High Heat Baseball 2004 thread (which usually happens on here within a week or two of 2k's release).Comment

Re: PC 2K11
I am not a big baseball fan but was going to look into the pc version of the game since it is a lot less money ($29.99).
Three quick questions:
1. Is there a demo for this game that I can try first?
2. Does it work well with the 360 wired controller?
3. Does the pc version look better than the console versions (assuming you have a pretty good pc)?Last edited by ab2c4; 03-15-2011, 04:33 PM.Comment

2. Yes, perfectly since it was designed for that controller.Comment

Re: PC 2K11
It's kind of funny, I wasn't even thinking about this game, but since I found that my PS3 had been stolen, my wife felt rather bad since I had bought The Show and couldn't play it. She stopped off and picked this up for me today. Keep in mind, she's not a big advocate of gaming period, but picked it up for me anyway.
Installed on the laptop, bumped everything up as far as it would go, and played my first game, Texas at Cincinnati (me). Game looks REALLY nice, no doubt about it. I didn't have FRAPS going, so I don't know what kind of FPS I was getting, but it was buttery smooth, at least at 60FPS. Granted, my resolution only goes to 1366x768, so it doesn't have to push a high resolution.
Game was great... going to 11 innings, with Brandon Phillips hitting the walk off home run in the bottom of the 11th to win the game 2-1. It should have never gotten to that point, but I was literally swinging at everything, no plate discipline, lol.
I had a lot of fun with it. It's definitely been upgraded no doubt, and looks to provide a pretty good game of baseball.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: PC 2K11
Thanks. Okay then, I'm using edited rosters. Is that maybe the issue? It works fine in batting practice, but when I play a game it crashes every time. Can't see how that can possibly be an issue with my machine, sorry. Has to be some sort of roster save issue -- which 2K is well-known for BTW.Comment

Re: PC 2K11
Yeah, I checked all that, thanks for the help. I just played a game with default rosters and it crashed in the bottom of the 1st inning. So it's not a saved roster issue apparently (which is a good thing). Guess it must be some setting on my PC. Thanks again.Comment

Re: PC 2K11
Yeah, no doubt about it. I was pretty happy about it. It plays a good game of baseball. I'm itching to play again, and grabbing some stadium mods in the near future.
She gave me the go ahead to either buy another PS3, but my home insurance will pay for it due to the theft clause, minus $100 deductible. So I may still go the KMart route, Take the Show back to WalMart, get my $60 back there, go to Kmart, use my Insurance money to get the PS3 w/ The Show free, and end up only $40 out of pocket. Won't effect my rates either
Now I just have to figure out if I want to get the system again when I didn't even realize it was gone all this timeTwitter - WTF_OS
