    Pitchers on base

Why when you get a hit with a pitcher do they put a jacket on while on the base paths? It looks really really dumb.

They do that to stay warm on the base paths. Keeps their pitching arm warm so their arm doesn't tighten up.

I have never seen anybody actually do that. Ive seen alot of pitchers on base too being a brewer fan. We have the best hitting pitching staff in the league...

Not all of them do it but some do. The game probably over exaggerated this tho.

Trust me it happens all the time.
As a Reds season ticket holder I see it all the time with their pitchers.
The reason you may not see it as much as a Brewers fan is they play indoors when it is cold.
Most pitchers only do it when it is cold outside and they do it to prevent their arms from getting cold. Again they put jackets on all the time if it is cold.

            And there's the answer.

Cold weather = pitcher wears jacket.

It's been happening for a very long time. My advice: Watch a few games outside of your local market before trumping a design decision for a video game covering all of baseball.

This also doesn't need a thread. We have a Q&A thread for a reason. Please use it.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer
