What Controller do you use for the PC?

I am new to PC gaming and I cannot find any way to make the Xbox 360 controller work with MLB 2k11.

I have updated the driver but all the controller does is blink. Also not an option in the game as all I see is the keyboard in the options / controller screen.

My controller is plugged into the PC via USB and my computer recognizes it and says it is working fine. Any thoughts, suggestions or help would be great as I need to use a controller for this game.

Hmmm I use a 360 controller without any probs or special software. Windows 7 automatically recognizes, Win XP recognized MLB 2K10 without any probs also.

+1 for the 360 controller. All I've ever had to do is just plug it in via USB and it works perfectly on Windows 7.

However, are you using a wired controller or a wireless one that has the detachable cable? Because I don't think you can just plug the wireless one into a PC. I could be wrong, but I think you'll need one of these:

I use ps3 controller (wired), and download the motionjoy ds3 tool. There is a good tutorial on that site also that tells you what to do. It's quite simple really. It installs the drivers, then allows you to switch between X360 profiles or PS3 (or PS2) profiles.

It is wireless but don't I get around that by just plugging it in or is it still trying to use wireless???

I haven't got 2k11 yet (and I'll be getting it on PS3 most likely when I do), but last year I used a PS3 controller with a third party driver.

The XBOX 360 controller for Windows is the best choice IMO.
Only respectable people deserve respect, you destroyed the game.

No. MSFT does not transmit a controller signal to the controller via USB on a wireless one. You need either a wired controller or the 360 controller wireless USB key for the PC linked above.

The computer is just recognizing a powered device through the USB. That is why it sees something but it doesn't know what to do with it.

The PS3 controller transmits controls through it's USB charger however. Thus the motionjoy driver will work with one plugged in.

Ok thanks for the info. I will hook up my PS3 controller instead.

I have used the motion joy drivers in the past they worked fine except they required you to connect to the internet before using them everytime yo ufired up your PC, not sure if that has changed. I did find another set of drivers for PS3 controllers that i tried with the 2k9 demo and they seem to work ok as well, here is a link in case you want another option.

My 360 controller that I bought specifically for MLB2K10 on the PC is working great this year too. Makes it easier to play since it seems to be the "native" controller in the instruction guide.

I ended up getting a wired 360 controller that works perfectly. I screwed up my computer messing around with the other driver files. I ended up having to reload windows 7 just to get everything working right again. Lessoned learned..........just pay the $32 and save alot of time and frustration.

Yep, there's no doubt this game was designed for the 360 controller.

I'm using a 5yr-old Logitech Dual Action gamepad without any issues.
