Help with Sliding

How do you direct your slide? I'm trying to use the left stick, as in the past, but it's not working.

I use the X button on Xbox 360 to slide, nothing fancy, just the button. The manual states left stick up for headfirst slide, left stick right for sliding to right side of bag, left stick left for sliding to left side of bag, and left stick down for sliding feet-first slide. If using the LS doesn't do it for you, then try LS and X button.

it seems different players have different directional slide animations. Unlike before where everyone could slide either feet or head first in either direction. Now some guys slide only feet first or head first left or right. It was weird at first when I didn't know what was going on but now I think its a pretty cool feature.

If what you say is true, then the manual is wrong.

I think the directional sliding is relative to the direction you are going. For example, if you are heading into third, because of the camera angle if you left, it considers that pushing straight forward. Not 100% sure though.

I don't seem to have any trouble directional sliding into 2nd on a steal though. In fact, sliding to the outside is WAY more effective when stealing that just a straight slide.
