    Velocity Issue in MLB 2K11

Hey, for some reason, just like in MLB 2K10, my pitch speeds are always usually lower than the expected. For example, Chapman throws 105 MPH but when I use him or when I face him, he always throws between 97-99. Same for Stephen Strasburg when he's supposed to throw 100 mph. I usually get "Max" when I pitch but it never reaches its full potential. What's up with that, thanks?

Note: I've been using the keyboard to pitch and it's in Classic pitching mode now. I'm expecting my 360 controller for PC in the mail soon.

You answered your own question. Gesture pitching allows for the adjustment of your own velocity for the most part.

So basically, I have to change from classic to total control pitching once I get the controller? Meaning that the harder I flick the analog stick, the more velocity it is?

Also, on a side note, didn't Neftali Feliz and Halladay mo-cap for 2K11 because their sig pitching motions aren't even in. I mean Feliz has a generic one and Halladay has the same one as last year...

        Use analog.

Well, if that's the case, then with Classic pitching you should be able to start with his top speed and lose speed as the game progresses. The CPU doesn't have to use gesture or classic.

Speaking on velocity in this game, not unlike other baseball games, pitchers speed ratings for FB, cutter, slider, and sinker are for the most part inflated.

I hit 105 with Chapman last night and 100 with Strasburg the night before. I use the right stick for pitching on 360.

I love the difference in the pop of the catcher's mitt between an 88 mph slider and a Chapman fastball!

It shouldn't make a difference using analog or Classic, If you get penalized speed for using Classic, then the same thing should happen to CPU pitchers. It's like choosing your difficulty level, the CPU will play on the difficulty level you choose with default sliders.

Just to clarify, while using Classic, and I face Chapman, he still throws the same velocity I do (96-99). Never 105. I only mentioned 105 mph because that's what his ratings said but this is not the case. Hopefully me getting the 360 controller in the mail soon will resolve the problem!

Chapman was pitching last night and got 103 & 101 mph pitches almost impossible to time hit if he throws anything else .

Unless Chapman is on your team pitching against the more "successful" batters on CPU teams that are not as easily fooled.
