Now i have rented 2k11 with high hopes that it would replace the show as my Baseball sim for this year. But i've only been able to spend a few hours with it and havn't really gotten a good feel for it. it seems fun for sure. and hitting seems easier then the show. But here's some of my concerns I hope you guys can answer.
1. How bad is the AI? Often times the computer has had fast baserunners on 2nd that do not come home on basehits like they would in real life. is this a common problem? Also, I played a game against milwaukee and Randy Wolf bunted everytime he came to the plate?? The bases were empty. WTF. Also, the computer seems to not manage the pitching staff well at all. relievers are left in far too long and often placed in rolls thier real life counterparts are not. Like I played the Reds the other night and Matt Maloney was broght in for a save?? Maloney is a long reliever.
2. Baserunning: Seems abysmal in this game. Could be because I despise running the bases. But is there no auto baserunning mode in this game??
3. UMPS: are they intentionally bad or is this a glitch?? Often times a baserunner is throwed out trying to steal by a good 5 feet and yet he is called safe?? really hurts the game as far as realism.
I guess it comes down to this. Can a season be played with any degree of realism at all. Thats what it comes down to for me. I'm not at all interested in on-line features. I wanna play a 162 season that ends with realistic stats and outcomes. I'm not interested in going 142-20 and winning the world series in a 4 game sweep.
