    Re: Too many damn injuries.

With default injury level of 50, I lost 6 pitchers (5 starters) over my first 8 franchise games.

Only 2 games out of 8 where a pitcher didn't go down to injury.

Wasn't abusing Max pitches or overthrowing, and most of the injuries occurred in early innings with low pitch counts. Something is not working correctly for sure.

      Re: Too many damn injuries.

Played 7 games in my franchise. Lost 4 pitchers and my 3rd baseman.
I'm not maxing out every pitch because i'm simply not good enough to do that :P.
Besides that, some of the injuries happened pretty early in the game when the pitcher had only thrown 40/50 pitches.
I'm going to try the slider and see what happens.

        Re: Too many damn injuries.

Me and a friend started a 2 player franchise and I've lost Cliff Lee, Jonathan Sanchez and Adam Wainwright all for 2-4 months. I also lost Jason Hayward for 2 weeks. He's lost Felix Hernandez and Phil Hughes for 2-4 months himself. This is through 5 games each. That's pretty ridiculous if you ask me. This is with the injury slider at 25.
        NFL: Green Bay Packers
        MLB: Pittsburgh Pirates, Colorado Rockies
        NBA: Denver Nuggets
        NHL: Colorado Avalanche, Pittsburgh Penguins

Pretty obvious they over-did it because of last year's complete lack of injuries. Default sliders there is a pretty serious injury every game for one team, but so far at 10 it's been pretty normal. Probably the solution here. Unless you want to be a AA team by September...

Don't worry, I'm sure he will get hurt next start.

Look man, I get the stuff about max pitches, it makes sense, as I said. Maybe it was naiveté on my part or whatever, but from 2k10 coming into 2k11, I always thought "max pitch" was a goal one strived for with every pitch and that was why the pitch meter moved quickly was to make it harder to throw a max pitch. Maybe that's also because the first time I played an XBox was last year with 2k10 (my system/baseball game of choice before that was World Series Baseball 1994 for Sega Genesis). Who knows?

I hate complaining about the game because I love it in so many other areas and was looking so forward to it this season.
I haven't given up on it but I would be lying if I said I was not frustrated with it at the moment.
I've played 9 games with my "Injury Frequency Slider" at 39, and here are my injuries.

Jose Tabata: 15 day DL - Biceps injury sliding into catcher at home plate.

Casey Resop: 15 day DL - Shoulder Strain.

Cesar Valdez: 60 day DL - Torn Forearm Muscle. I left him in the game for too many innings.

Kevin Corriea: 15 day DL - Knee Strain. Was previously injured w/ a neck injury but was DTD. Missed a start, was pitching a gem, and got injured after 5 solid innings.

I don't think these are injuries that are not otherwise realistic, and the volume is on par w/ what I would expect. My personal opinion...

I like it at 10 personally just seems right, you still get your bumps and bruises but not nearly as many catastrophic injuries.

I agree completely, those sound right.

The one thing that has not been constant for me in my franchise is where I have kept my injury slider; it did seem that every time I changed it I got a new injury the next game. I have played about 15 games total (including 3-4 spring training, I'm at April 15 now and have simmed 2-3 reg season games) and so far have had (in order of occurrence and each injury received during gameplay unless otherwise noted):

                SPRING TRAINING
                Sean Marshall 60 DL
                John Grabow 60 DL
                Fukudome DTD 9+ days (simmed)
                Jay Jackson 15 DL

                REG SEASON
                Zambrano DTD 9+ days
                Garza 60 DL
                Carlos Marmol DTD 4+ days
                Dempster 60 DL
                Tyler Colvin 15 DL
                Tom Gorzelanny 15 DL
                Jeff Baker DTD 2 days
Rafael Dolis (AA) DTD 10+ days (simmed)
                Wells DTD 10+ days
Scott Moore (AAA) 15 DL (simmed)

                  Re: Too many damn injuries.

In my franchise, i've had my share of injured pitchers, from couple 2 weekers to my ace going down 160+ days.
and most of em happened when i was playing the game, between 3rd-6th inning. a lot less so when games were simmed.

so starting today, with my injury slider set at 15-20, i'm going to turn off "in-game" injuries. i'm thinking this will help solve most of my problems.

I am just not seeing the injuries that everyone else is.
I wish I could say the same, I have lost Volquez for 2-4 months, Votto for 3 weeks, and Hannigan for 11 days all within the first week of the season

I am currently 15-5 in my franchise and have had so many injuries! I have had to trade away my farm club to remain competitive.

                      Starlin Castro: 3 weeks
                      Carlos Pena: 1 month
                      Zambrano: 60 day DL
Dempster: Day to day ( reasonable)
                      Garza: 60 day DL
                      Soto: 15 day DL

That is pretty rediculous for only playing twenty games. I mean it is possible I guess, but pretty crazy.
