Two questions - Bunting online, My Player

    Hello gang,

    Two questions:

1.) Has anyone else run into the problem of way too many people bunting online? The last 3 games I've played have featured my opponent bunting non-stop, and I haven't been able to defend it. I'm not going to call this an exploit yet, because I'm sure I'm doing something wrong on my end. However, I was the Rangers playing the Indians last night, and I simply could not get to the ball fast enough and throw quick enough to get the runners out.

Do I just bring the infield in for every AB? If so, yikes. If not, I don't know what to do.

2.) Is it possible to play full games in My Player mode, as opposed to super-sim? I know it might be boring, but I would enjoy it.

    Thanks for any help

    1. There was the same problem last year with bunting, and you're not really doing anything wrong and its not really an exploit. The biggest problem is that for some people, with their lack of a decent internet connection, its impossible to actually hit the ball. Last year I tried to play a couple games online and I had lag so bad that as soon as I saw the ball come out of the pitchers hand it was across the plate, so it was impossible for me to get a hit. Therefore I just don't play online anymore.

Some people though do do it just to be an *** because they suck and can't get a real hit. Just keep trying and find a way to defend it and you'll be set.

    2. There wasn't last year and I've yet to find a way to do it this year.

Yes, the online bunting is an exploit, it's a glitch and it's cheese. Last year you could pitch high in the strike zone and get people to pop out easily. This year it's more challenging as bunts are actually easier to get down and force the pitcher into that long, drawn out animation (that's the glitch part). It's too easy to go from first to third on a bunt (I usually field with the pitcher and run towards third base if there is a man on first and my opponent bunts, if they're going 1st to 3rd, it's an easy out.). Pitching high in the zone sometimes will cause a pop-up bunt, however not as often as last year. If my opponent constantly wants to bunt with 2 strikes (which you're taught at an early age to NOT do in baseball), I'll start pitching just outside the zone to try to get them to stop. 2 seamers high and cut fastballs high (in the zone) tend to work better than anything straight...and a high curve (in the zone) works pretty ok trying to get a pop up bunt....it's too bad that 2k has allowed this to continue again this year....
