I think one of last year's Franchise Mode glitches has been fixed
Okay, as everyone knows, there was a bug last year where drafted players would cause the game to freeze the moment they came to bat. So last night, I decided to do a sim franchise with the Royals, but only sim until the game after the draft, just to see if the problem was fixed. First, when I got to the draft, I saw that the Royals were last in the AL Central. That's to be expected, of course, since the Royals suck. Anyway, after I finished the draft, I start up the game following it. That game happened to be against Toronto. So I had one of Toronto's drafted players lead off the game just to see what would happen since Toronto was the visitor. The drafted player came to bat, and there was no freeze. So therefore, I can confirm that the problem from last year with drafted players freezing the game has indeed been fixed for this year.Last edited by leafsfan17; 03-22-2011, 12:49 PM.Tags: None -
Re: I think one of last year's Franchise Mode glitches has been fixed
Great news. I was really hoping to hear something positive about this as it was so frustrating on 2K10 (especially since the draftee would often pinch-hit later in games only to freeze it after playing 7-8 innings).
I only saw the freezing on drafted players if the player was batting left-handed and only on the medium profile camera angle (the action camera angle that normally begins an inning as the player is stepping up to the plate, as opposed to a longer camera angle or a more frontal view), if I remember correctly. I don't recall my right-handed batters ever causing a problem on 2K10. -

I also recall some freezing when trying to sign drafted players after the first year of franchise on 2K10.Comment

the freeze part has been fixed. When you are in pre-season or sept when 40 man rosters are available, any drafted or 2k generated players face changes to a generic face when they are either batting or fielding.Comment

If it was Pujols face changing, or an actual real player I would be pretty upset.
...But it's otherwise a fictitious character so who cares that their face changes, it's not like you're going to remember the moles on John Jacob Jinglehimer's face.
So long as his abilities don't change, and something like his skintone doesn't change from what we see on his playercard to something drastically different in-game then its whatever (who cares) IMO.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment
