    2k Sucks Me In...THEN

Hit a random game with the Rays at the Mets (me)...I'm a Dodger fan but just wanted to try something different.

It's a really good pitching duel which with these clubs surprised me...we go 0-0 through 6. I mean good hitting/pitching battles...Thank you 2K developers for making this experience much better this year.

Then in the 7th the Rays bust out 2 runs on a stolen base and rbi. They add 1 more in the 8th and then I managed to get in scoring position and add 2 for the Mets...I'm down 3-2.

The Rays ALMOST pad thier lead in the 9th and I barely escape to try to get a chance to win. With 1 out I get a runner on first and then David Wright just absolutely smashes a HR into the upper right field deck...Thing of beauty...the game ends on a monster 2 run shot the Mets are celebrating at home plate...you know the business...

But this is the fun factor and beauty of this years game...I'm a guy that has played mainly football SIM ball for years and hasn't even touched a baseball game since the triple play days...so I'm sitting there watching it all unfold with a big grin plastered on my mug...THEN.

Player of Game is announced....B.J. Upton wins it with his 1-4 - 2rbi - 1 SB performance and David Wright just went 3-4 with 3 rbi - 1 SB and oh yeah THE GAME WINNING BLAST THAT WENT ALMOST TO THE PARKING LOT TO WIN THE GAME...

...You're killing me Smalls...killing me...I know I know...just take your win and shut up...and I know they have some work to do but in some area's this game is SOOOOO close...

We've been saying that every year since about 2006. It would be nice if they actually got down to doing that work.
It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''

I'm beginning to think these yearly cycles where a new game has to come out every year is really working to the detriment of this series.

What I mean is, rather than use the development time to de-bug and fine tune the game engine and get things running as smooth as possible, the developer is too busy trying to come out with some new feature or mode in order to entice the consumer to buy the latest edition of the game.

How else can you explain some of the same/similiar bugs and glitches appearing year after year?

it is like almost every game company in every genre, unless it is a new engine you get the same game every year with minor changes, at least this game keep trying to keep things fresh.

If they made a perfect product (which would be peachy), there would be very little reason for people to buy it the following year.

So they add glitches on purpose? No. It happens, the game overall is fun, but there are small things that make the game, not perfect. Which is okay by my standards because player of the game is truely irrelevant IMO.
