    Pitcher on Rehab Assignment Glitch?

Hey guys. In my franchise with the Pirates, Charlie Morton came off the DL and was automatically assigned to a 2-game rehab stint. I have simmed at least a month later, and he is currently on my MB 25-man roster, but not under my pitching rotation. He's just taking up a roster spot but is unusable. When I got into him under player management, I can't call him up or send him down.

This just happened with another pitcher of mine, too. Do I have to do anything to make him usable again or is he gone for good?

It's a known glitch. I think it happens to position players as well and I don't believe you can get them off either. Haven't heard any confirmation of a workaround or something to help get them off.

Anyways, that and fatigue are the only reasons as to why I haven't started my chise just yet. If these issues get patched, its going to be a fun year with 2k. I'm just a bit nervous that if they patch these issues, they will break something else.

Alright, as long as it's known I guess there's hope for it.

I actually just found something that sort of worked:

First, take note of the player's contract. Then, edit the unusable player's contract down to the minimum. Then, release the unusable player into FA. Sign him back at whatever price it takes. Then edit his contract back to what it was.

Worked for me, except I still can't callup/send down the players. It still says theyre on a rehab stint, but I guess it's better than not being able to use them.

I have had this problem and I believe there is a fix for it (it worked for me at least). Just go into your pitching rotation and press Y (triangle for ps3) to have the CPU optimize your lineup or rotation. He should reappear in one of your rotation slots. Hope this helps.

This has happened to me now w/ Chris Resop.

Essentially your 25 man roster is 24 men for the extent of the rehab assignment...which seemed longer than two games.

          Here's what happened for me:

I got notification after an April 27th game that Resop would be coming off the DL, but requiring a 2-game rehab stint. I could not advance to the next day because my roster showed as having 26 players, and the CPU would not let me send Resop down to AAA. So I sent Chris LeRoux, and then simmed the next 7 games, and on my next off day (don't know if that is relevant or not), the CPU notified me that Resop had completed his rehab assignment.

Now as of May 5th I have a full 25 man roster, and options now appear to allow me to send Resop to the minors. However, he is 100% healthy now so he would otherwise stay at the MLB level.

So the glitch is you are without a full 25 man roster until the rehab stint is over? ....because my testing reveals that the glitch is eventually rectified.

Almost. The glitch is that he never comes off the rehab assignment :/ It happened to me with both Morton and McDonald. If it ever happens again I'll try what bonafied suggested and hit Y and see if he comes back.

Re: Pitcher on Rehab Assignment Glitch?

Ive had this happen with about 5 or 6 players in my Braves chise. They do eventually complete their rehab stint but it's usually way longer than 2 games or 5 games like it says. Most my players went down in April and they were on their rehab stint until june or july. Im now in september and I still have one player that hasn't come back from his rehab stint.

Is it possible that you have to manually change your minor league lineup to allow for the player to get in simulated games? For instance, if you have an injured outfielder that needs a couple games to get better, if you changed your minor league lineup to have him in the game, did he come off rehab?

I'm just wondering if the computer doesn't play the guy because he's not in your regular starting lineup for the minor leagues or the starting rotation etc and that until a spot opens, they won't play him. I could be way wrong but just curious if anyone knows.

Good thought, but the player doesn't even show up on your minor league roster/lineup.
