Spring Training in My Player...worth it?

I just finished up my first season in the bigs, missed the playoffs but had great stats in the 45 or so games I was up for the Majors. I am on the Cubs, we lost a lot of Free Agents, and they did NOT sign anyone, not a single player. Kinds sucks because they already have weak lineup and lost Carlos Pena. Anyway, I started Spring Training but really have no desire to play 30+ meaningless games. I am ok with missing out on the attribute points if I sim them, but is that all I am going to miss out on? Is it worth it to play those game for any other reasons? I am not normally a "simmer" I play all of my games, all of my at bats, and fielding chances. Can someone help me out?

I am not a "simmer" either but I agree on skipping the spring. To my knowledge, you will only miss out on the points. You don't even really miss out on them, you will just get substantially less.

Yeah, you'll still get some points when simming, just a lot less. You won't miss out on anything else and there's no penalty. You'll still be called in for clutch moments & key games and the simulation will stop, but I can't remember if any of the spring training games are even considered key games.

I haven't finished a season yet this year, but if it's like last year then the entire Spring Training you get x2 on your skill points which if your trying to get your player to a higher overall makes Spring Training really nice. Otherwise there is no point.

Thanks for the responses... I did sim Spring training about 30 games or so. Yes, nothing important happens if you Sim, but you do lose out on the Skill Points. In the 30ish games I simmed, I probably earned about as much skill points as I would have in 2 games that I would have played, so to say you get "less" is an understatement, you basically get nothing. But it was worth it to me to get the Season underway.
