Left Analog stick in hitting.....pretty much useless?
It seems to me that whenever I try to use the left analog stick in hitting, it 1) greatly increases my strikeouts, and 2) greatly reduces the chances that I hit the ball solid. I leave my hand off the analog stick, and I rarely strike out, and get much more solid contact with the ball.

Re: Left Analog stick in hitting.....pretty much useless?
I completely disagree. I don't touch the Up/Down directions but I've found that pulling or pushing the ball by moving LS in the direction of the side of the plate the ball is coming down generates a lot more power and gets me most of my big hits, as it should.
EDIT: Yeah sorry guys I feel like an idiot right now, I botched the explanation big time. Push the stick toward the ball not in the opposite direction. It's something I don't think about at all it just becomes instinctual, I guess that's why I screwed up so bad describing it lolLast edited by Pass_The_Cows; 03-28-2011, 06:43 PM.NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Wait... so let me get this straight... If the pitch is going for the OUTSIDE of the plate, you're holding the stick towards the INSIDE of the plate when you're swinging? I've been doing it the other way-around... I'll have to give that a try.Comment

LEFT HANDED BATTER
The right side of the plate (closest side to the batter) is the inside of the plate. If the pitch is inside you would push the L stick to the RIGHT for a pull hit on the inside part of the plate.
The left side of the plate (Furthest away from batter) is outside of the plate. If a pitch is outside you would push the L stick to the left to hit the ball to opposite field.
These both benefit the hitter with proper hitting in the game.Attached FilesCatch Madden 15/ NBA 2k15 Footage on my Twitch Channel

RIGHT HANDED BATTER
The left side of the plate (Closest to a Right-handed batter) is the inside of the plate. If a pitch is on the inside you would press the L stick to the LEFT to pull hit the ball.

When you say...
"These both benefit the hitter with proper hitting in the game"
you make it sound like aiming the L stick is necessary for optimal hitting. What advantage is there as compared to just timing your swing properly? Example: swinging a bit early to pull an inside pitch.

Re: Left Analog stick in hitting.....pretty much useless?
I tried the left stick for awhile, but have given up on using it. As Swaldo alluded to, you can basically pull or go opposie field with the timing of your swing, so the left stick seems kind of unnecessary to me. I get plenty of variety without it.Comment

Yeah the left stick is really nothing major I agree with you. I was just saying according to how 2K states it you should recieve a boost for doing so. Timing is practically everything & location of courseCatch Madden 15/ NBA 2k15 Footage on my Twitch Channel
