Your thoughts and Lefties and Curveballs................ !!!!
I so hate any left handed pitchers I seem to strike more against them and get lets hits. Curveballs/Sinkers are so frustrating to wait on. Just when I think I have figured it out I haven't, this is just a baseball rantLast edited by BSUFAN; 03-30-2011, 01:39 PM.When you come to a fork in the road, take it..... Yogi Berra

Re: Your thoughts and Lefties and Curveballs................ !!!!
If you're not using batters eye 100% of the time then get a good set of headphones and "listen" to the pitch. Sometimes you can actually hear the difference between a fastball and a curve. It's not money though because the sound depends on various factors - such as the location of where it's thrown.
It's cool because sometimes you think fastball but the pitch just sounds dead so you hold up and sure enough it's a curveball. And I dont care if it's not "realistic" because videogames need hitting aids like this. I'd say the amount of time it takes to determine whats being thrown is roughly the same for a real-life batter who picks up the spin on a ball, so in a way it's realistic.Last edited by swaldo; 03-30-2011, 03:44 PM. -

And yes, it is realistic. Fastballs sound much different than an offspeed breaking pitch, at least they did when I played. The fastball "rips" the air more than a breaking ball does.Comment
