Re: Any team selection ideas for franchise?
Yes, go one AL team, one NL. your a Chi fan but you dont want to use them? i usually go for a young talented team that only needs some good trading/front office managing to make them winners. A good AL team for this is Oakland. Great young pitching, alright contact and good speed. Good young catcher, solid outfield thats aging. All they lack is power, which can be traded for.
Another good team to build up is the Orioles, but they need some pitching. Surprisingly enough the Pirates are not half bad if you get them some competent pitching. McCutchen's and Alvarez go ham bones.
If you need some power for these teams, I suggest a trade for the Reds Jay Bruce. Super young and gold glove caliber, that starts at an 84 in season 1. After a year though he goes up to a 90 in all of the seasons Ive played. After year 2, he goes up to a 95, with an 87 contact 88 power and 87 speed. Oh yeah, all his defensive ratings are above 96 at this point. -

Obviously I'm biased but I like using the Pirates.
Like Sabo said, the young hitting is there, they just need some pitching. There's a wave of pitchers who'll hit the bigs in about 2013 so around then the Bucs could be contenders, both in the game and in real life.WE ARE PENN STATE
Let's Go BucsComment

Since everyone has already said the Pirates. I'd say go with The Cleveland Indians.Comment
