how do you hit for power with classic controls???

please help, i've recently switched from total control to classic hitting which is just the x botton on the ps3 but now i don't remember how to hit for power. was it up on the direction and x???

I hit plenty just by pressing the button, with default Pro difficulty settings, but if you need more power then turn the power slider up.

Don't push up on the left stick. That influences a sac fly, but it doesn't work well for homers. Just push the button and homeruns will come if your timing is right and the pitch is a good one to drive.
