    Contracts and Game Economics

I need to know one thing before I consider buying the game. Does 2K finally have baseball's actual economic system in the game? Are players under team control for three years followed by three arbitration years before free agency? I bought the game last year, saw that Colby Rasmus had a three year contract for $2 million per year and immediately returned the game. I just cannot play a baseball game that pretends that baseball operates on an NFL contract structure just with guaranteed salaries.

If someone can let me know I would be very appreciative.

Unfortunately, no. Players just become free agents once their contracts are up, regardless of age/ service time. They have Type A and type B free agents, but teams don't keep control of players for 3 years automatically, and there is no arbitration. Sucks.

It definitely sucks, but I appreciate the response so that I know not to buy a game that would just make me mad. I'll just have to wait for my favorite PC baseball sim to be released for the year. Thanks!

By controlling all-30 teams you can somewhat simulate this.
