    Re: Trade Discussion Thread

Thats not really my team, I just wanted to point out how unrealistic the trading in this game is. You could give up 3 ****ty players for Mike Stanton who was the number prospect in baseball last year behind Heyward and Strasburg, and actually land the deal. It's ridiculous how easy trading is.

I basically traded away 3 bad players for a star at each position.

Yeah it does suck. I just pick up players I like from other teams, or just to fill needs. what is your real team?

I'm currently 3 games into the year now with my new franchise and this is the one I plan on keeping. I made myself a rule of only 2 trades until the all-star break than I can do 2 more. Also I made myself a rule I can only use the trade finder.

So far I have traded Clayton Richard, Chris Denorofia (82 with updated rosters), and Kyle Blanks (young version of Fielder), for Prince Fielder which I found on the trade finder list. I haven't made any other moves yet, although I am considering a 5th SP, or another hitter to bat 4th. Although I can't find anyone yet. Any suggestions?

In one of my franchises, the Phills put Hamel on the trading block in trade finder after going 2-5 with an ERA over 5.00. i picked him up for Homer Bailey, Arredondo and some prospect where he went on to post a respectable 12-6 record with a 3.11 ERA by the end of the season. I like that the AI will sometimes move players that are struggling, but its not like the Phills needed him all that bad either.

            Re: Trade Discussion Thread

I'm probably not going to make a move yet, but what do you guys think about this trade? It was offered to me through the trade finder, and I think it's realistic enough to do later on if I really need pitching help.

            Rangers get:
            --Ted Lilly (83)

            Dodgers get:
            --Chris Davis (75)

The Dodgers are doing terrible in my franchise (3-11), so getting rid of Lilly for a younger power hitter who will only get better makes sense. Not to mention that they get rid of Lilly's not so great contract considering he has a 5+ ERA.

Davis is a beast in this game, but I prefer to use Moreland at first base to keep it realistic with the real life Rangers. Only problem with the deal for me is that the Rangers have next to no major league ready hitters in the minor leagues, so if injuries happen I could be in trouble.

I also have 3 catchers, and could get some decent offers for Torrealba and Teagarden. Not moving Napoli because he is absolutely killing the ball.

They already have Loney, so you could do Moreland instead of Davis because Moreland can play OF. They already got a young 1B. Moreland would be more realistic.

I think moving Moreland would be much less realistic. Davis has been hovering between AAA and the big leagues for the last couple years whereas Moreland has terrific upside. He is the reason the Rangers traded Justin Smoak to the Mariners. Smoak will be a great power hitter but they saw more in Moreland with his ability at the plate and versatility in the field (1B & RF) They want Moreland to be their first baseman of the present and future. I also have a Rangers franchise going and I'm about 80 games in and both Davis and Moreland are tearing it up for me. If I was you, I'd definitely keep them. With those two and Hamilton, you have three very powerful lefties in the lineup. I also traded away Torrealba to the Dodgers to make Teagarden my backup which he is filling in quite well.

And if you're thinking about James Loney, he's a talented first baseman prospect of the Dodgers. The Rangers currently do not have an infielder with the last name of Loney in their system.

Moreland is good. Davis is not good. He had potential but hat yet to prove anything but power at the major league level. Why would the dodgers trade for Chris Davis when they have Loney. Loney has better potential than Davis and is already better.

Moreland can at least play the OF.

lol what other Loney would I be talking about?

Loney is not considered a prospect anymore so I have no idea where you got the info that he was a prospect.

Ok one question that will clear everything up, are you telling him to trade Moreland or Davis? Cause you said he "can do moreland." Does that mean trade him?

I'm saying trading Mitch Moreland for Ted Lilly is more realistic than Chris Davis for Ted Lilly.

I completely agree if you're a member of the Dodgers organization. However, I wouldn't recommend it if you are using the Rangers in 2K11

I didn't realize Loney had 5* potential in the game. I've never considered him THAT good. Davis would still be a better power hitting 1st base option for them at least the next couple seasons, and a cheaper one.

If I do decide to trade for Lilly, I'll probably send Yorvit Torrealba in return. He would start right away as their every day catcher, not to mention the 3 that they have are all only signed for one year while Torrealba is locked up for 2. The Dodgers actually offered Hiroki Kuroda as well in the trade finder for Torrealba, so I guess that's another option since I could use a RHP more than a lefty at the moment.
