Is this game for me? Not rich
I have 360 so I can't play the show I'm more of a madden guy, but the NFL has made me mad. NBA 2k11 I played enough of it. I did not get NHL 11, because I was going to buy NASCAR the game 2011 until I found out there was no career mode. I'm 31 and I'm not a fan of online I like offline franchise. That being said.. I have not bought a baseball game since MVP 2005. My skill is not great at games I play for the franchise to build a team etc and have fun playing it. Do I buy this game, or is just a average baseball game with flaws. I had heard you could update real life rosters on franchise this year as the season goes that a myth? Not sure if my skill level is good enough if I like it. Sorry for the question anybody give me there thoughts be really coo thanks everyoneI live in the best city Chicago!!

Re: Is this game for me? Not rich
First, try the demo. If you like that, then you will like the game. Right now franchise is unplayable to me because players do not get fatigued after playing a game. They do, however, in simmed games. This causes the CPU to use the same reliever every game in a series. You also get a little advantage when beginning a new series because your players have 99% energy while the CPU will have lower %'s because they're games were simmed.
Once the patch comes out and fixes that issue, then I would easily say this game is worth it, but since you're a franchise guy, maybe wait.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Don't pay full price for this game, especially if you like franchise modes. No fatigue and poor AI decisions. Let's see if the patch addresses anything of significance.
I was lucky to get it for $33 when Models.com was running the promo. That's about all it's worth. You won't get your $63 worth from this title, at least not in its current state. And I have little faith in 2k's ability to fix a lot in the patch. It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

Re: Is this game for me? Not rich
I used to love mvp 05 but this game is much dif imo. I bought this game only to sell it to a friend (luckily) because playing a full game got boring for me way too fast. I love all sports but for me, baseball is def one of the most boring sports to watch and this game does a great job recreating that lol. Not saying its a bad game just ask yourself if your a true baseball fan.Last edited by johnnyg713; 04-10-2011, 10:00 PM.Comment

Re: Is this game for me? Not rich
Honestly, I would wait for the patch and a price drop before considering getting this game. It's not terrible in its current form, but there are a lot of things wrong with the game right now (some have already been mentioned) and unless you had a lot of games to trade-in to drop the price, I wouldn't recommend you paying $60-plus dollars.
You will certainly like the presentation and MLB Today (when working properly) is a great concept. The controls are pretty easy to pick up and they are fun to use.
Give the Demo a shot and see what you think and then you can make a better decision.Currently Playing:

Re: Is this game for me? Not rich
The only reason I bought this game was because I could get it for $30 through modells. If you're a franchise guy, like I am, stay away for now. Wait and see if a patch fixes anything. There's the fatigue bug, the screwy AI, and IMO this game isn't playing a solid game statistically. There's a lot of discussion about sliders and no one's really solved it yet.Comment
