also where do you find hot/cold zones of hitters you're facing. probs very accessible and i'm an idiot...but haven't seen that yet.
I agree. I think two weeks would have been a lot better.

And in franchise, you have to purchase the Inside Edge reports of an individual team to see their hitters' hot/cold zones and stuff. Somewhere under GM Management or whatever I believe.

Re: high contact/low power hitters useless??

So does contact hitting really make that much of a difference? I typically try to contact swing with contact guys, and power swing with power guys, but even by doing that I'm struggling to get hits.

GRANTED, I am using the Giants who don't have very high hitting ratings anywhere on the board, but even the few guys that I do have with contact ratings in the 70's-80's I'm struggling to get hits with.

In the last 2 games I've played (1 was an MLB Today / Play Now game against the Padres, the other was a Franchise Mode Spring Training Game against the A's) I've been shut out and held to probably a combined 4 hits in 2 games.

In those games I was going up against Mat Latos and Trevor Cahill respectively, but even with all that combined, I feel like 22 scoreless innings (the game against the Padres went 13 innings before the Padres scored the first run of the game and won) and 4 hits over the same time frame is a bit much.

I'm playing on All-Star difficulty with no adjusted sliders. I'm making contact with most every batter, I don't strike out often, but I'm always grounding out or flying out. I am afraid to change the difficulty setting lower, because the game seems realistic otherwise - especially when I am pitching. On the flip side, with Lincecum I shut out the Padres for 12 innings, and against the A's, I didn't have a 12 inning shut out going, but Lincecum was holding the A's to 2 runs for most of the game until finally in the 7th I believe the bottom just fell out and he gave up another 2 runs before I pulled him, and the bullpen just completely imploded (not exactly unrealistic of the Giants).

Is it just a matter of me just not having good enough players on my roster with the Giants, and I need to get better players? If so, I am completely on board with that, because I am all about results of franchise modes being determined by the skills of the players on the team, and getting better players making a difference. I haven't felt that in certain franchise modes I've played (I.E. Madden), but if that's the case here, then I'm down with that.

But are the Giants *THAT* bad?? 4 hits in 22 innings bad? Or am I doing something wrong?

Not to me, one of my favorite hitters on the game is Ryan Sweeney of the A's. All contact, little power, but can hit .320+ and has a strong arm.

select the proper base runner with "A", and then left trigger.

I think little other changes would help too.
I have had 5 or 6 hits that could have easily been RBI doubles taken away in the past few games, simply because of shortstop, or 2nd base suction gloves, where the ball is easily a foot over their arm, but gets sucked in, resulting in an out for me
